May I just add Andrew, that Ferry Meadows is just down the road from Peterborough Speedway, which runs from the middle of March until the end of October each year at the East of England Showground at Alwalton. Speedway is a very exciting motorcycle team sport for all the family, and even dogs are welcome! So if any visitors to Ferry Meadows want an exciting night out, then its right on the doorstep of the site.

Cheers David! Thanks for the message and I hope you get some support from Club Members. There is an information room on site, and I'm sure the wardens will allow you to put a notice in there too if you ask them nicely. All the best.

Hi Andrew, really enjoy your Vlogs, I jumped in originally half way through just as you arrived at Craigie Gardens in Ayr, I'm from Chester and its a site I have been to also and really enjoyed the area. We also travelled across to Arran too coincidentally although we were lucky and didn't experience floods like you did/do. The reason for my comment is your surprise the site in Peterborough was full and I wondered if you considered it may not be just tourists from afar who are using the site, we use one of our local caravan club sites near Chester just 15 miles away at Chirk for the 'let's get our Caravan ready for the summer' holiday weekend. As we keep our caravan in storage it's the only place we are able to carry out the various jobs you need to do and I wonder if other sites experience the same thing, certainly this has been our experience at Chirk. Watching your vlogs with interest as we are hoping to do something similar when we retire, keep up the good work.

+MrT33CEE Thanks for the comment! Glad you like the vlogs. I still have a few more to finish and we are almost a year after starting this trip! Good point about folks using local sites to get the van ready for the coming season. But I look out now where I am in the South East mid week in March and it is also busy... my point is that a good site will encourage visitors to the area - even if only from 15 miles away! All the best, maybe see on a site soon!

+Andrew Ditton Yes I think The Caravan Club sites are superb, with the odd exception I pretty much use their network exclusively. We have also used their affiliated sites in France having finally built up the courage to go over there, best thing we ever did, incidentally I found your 'Taking your Caravan across the ferry' video very useful, French Towns also cater very well with parking specifically for Motorhomes and Caravans. I empathise with your frustrations on the roads, I find it amazing how rude people become once they sit in a vehicle, it is quite bazaar.

Hi Andrew, so another irritating comment for you. As you are travelling on your own, what if any precautions do you take when popping in for a coffee at the services? I'm paranoid of someone stealing the van at the services, so much so, that I stay behind while everyone enjoys a latte and wee. It's all common sense I know, but any tips ? Ta muchly Dan

Hi Dan, I normally make my own on board and try not to leave the rig unattended. If I have to, I park in sight of where I'm sitting and scoffing. I lock everything down (wheelclamp etc) and set the sophisticated security system which, for obvious reasons, I won't go into here! Fortunately once you get into the Highlands and Islands this becomes less of an issue.

Am I right in saying you have no towing mirrors on?
@andrewjditton7 жыл бұрын
No, you're not! I always use Milenco Aero2 towing mirrors. It's those you see through the window - they are attached to the wing mirrors which are out of shot. Just goes to show how awesomely stable they are! ;)
