You’ll never be a failure Mr D, we’ve enjoyed your content over the years and you know what my favourite was always your early stuff when you went to the Scottish Island’s, when Dougle was younger and it’s nice to think you’ll be able to do that again. No agenda, just doing what you want to do, when you want to do it. Good luck with you new job, hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas and a wonderful new year 😊

Andrew, you have been of great help and service over the years. As we embarked upon our MH journey, you have been of great help, thank you. Your videos are well thought out, well produced and well considered. These reasons alone make you stand out from the crowed. However, maintaining your high standards will come at a cost and you have paid the ultimate price. We all appreciate how candid and honest you are, no one doubts your integrity. Best wishes for your new adventure and I hope you continue to have some great times. Thanks for the ride!

Good to see you back, Andrew. During your hiatus we've been quite concerned for your wellbeing, so thankyou for providing this update. I must say, you're already looking much happier than in some recent videos, you've obviously been needing this change for a while. You're absolutely right in what you say, having the guts to take a risk and give something a shot is never a failure. The body of quality work you've produced during these seven years, and the following you've attracted as a result, are a story of resounding success. As for future content; well I'm sure we'll all agree that quality trounces quantity every time! Personally I'd much rather sporadic updates that I know have brought YOU as much joy to make, as they do me to watch, than you draining yourself dry trying to churn out content to a timetable. Though we'll most likely never meet, I've shared so much of your life through your videos that I somehow think of you as a friend. I suspect many others feel the same. And you always want the best for your friends. Take care of yourself and your family, and we'll see you when we see you!

I am a long term subscriber - I came to your channel from an aspiring minimalist perspective. Loved all your videos, the travel and the dogs. But I respect you immensely for not giving into the drive to promote rubbish. I felt very broken hearted for you, having to leave Uist, as I had found my dream home in another Celtic place, Cornwall. I hope the job works out well for you. I'm a mum with adult child returned home for a shortish period too. From those side of the fence can I just say it is wonderful to have a son around again. Your Mum must be so proud of you. You are a brave man, to live by your values. I will keep an Eagle eye out for when you post in future. Best of luck!

Oh! Andrew! Sorry if ramble here but i want to say a few things, hopefully coherently 🤣 I watched your videos years ago then i stopped but occasionally did watch ones and i started again seeing your videos. I found your videos as i used to live in Lewis, my mothers from there and im bit of a ferry, train , plane geek 😂 - i found a video you made about travelling by ferry. also the islands hold a special place for me and you as i discovered and you brought that to me and others! Honestly im sorry to hear what happened but also delighted you keep your integrity!! I feel like i got to know you and dougal from the videos! Its awesome! Honestly i think you are so on point with the nonsense that sometimes comes out of social media and its cool you refuse to follow that even if it is the hard path. I understand what you mean when you say your creativity is spent just now, you need time to take a break recharge, enjoy family other things snd the freedom:) Im glad you have that just now! You are a success for way more than because you tried! You brought us many nice videos, experiences and shared much of the Hebrides and other places too with us! Not to mention lifestyles and the van reviews! You did a lot! It was very informative and nice to watch! You reached people with your videos! Remember that for ever! Also i think you presented in a fantastic way, its professional clear and concise! You do a good job! And as you just explained you made quality content over content for the sake of it!! Thats rare and fair play to you ! So you are a success for sure! Thanks for the update! And Ill be interested in any future videos you make! ☺️ Stay safe and enjoy yourself, job and new found freedom!

Plenty of variation in my watching so I see what you describe in content creators trying too hard to get views and the hawking around of product (Drones, bikes batteries food VPN's !! etc). Your life, follow your dreams and ambitions - especially the bikes ( I've a brace and ride a blood bike) Lots of ways to live life and videos for the fun of it sounds right for you and us ! You are an honest man, Andrew. I have always enjoyed your videos but you have to stay true to yourself. I am also from the SE but have been living in rural Cumbria for 10 years and even this distance is a bit difficult sometimes. I know what you mean about missing the multiculturalism of a big city and I miss that so much too. Other parts of the country are beautiful and are often good places to live, but they ain't home, no matter how much you want it to be. Hello Andrew I have been following you for many years now. In my opinion whilst people were drawn to your channel for the reviews you did, you become a person they feel they know and love. As things changed they followed you to Scotland and shared your life up there. Many KZbinrs I follow have changed their paths totally but because I feel I know them I watch the content. It’s like chatting with an old friend some how. Often these videos are just of them talking about what horrible day they have had, or how they are struggling or how something nice has happened. Your true supporters should be there for you on the good and bad times, and give support. There are always going to be haters and greedy people sadly life is like that. If you can just block them out of your life - do it. Now you don’t need the income from KZbin you can film what you like and I’m sure people will be interested. Take care try and eat healthy you look tired and stay safe. We love you - fly free and have fun ❤❤❤

Having only recently found your channel and going through your back catalogue, I really hope you do keep going. I’ve discovered that we have a lot in common - caravanning, railways and dogs (I met my husband through the local model railway club). Anyway, I just wanted to say that I really hope that you can keep going with the channel. Take care (PS as an accountant, I can help with that tax return!)

Congratulations with your new job! Your content has been most interesting, enjoyable, and engaging, especially ScotVlogs which leave me in awe of what you achieved to this day. I'm surprised Andrew that you managed as long as you did, I couldn't do it. Achieving success on KZbin tends to lend itself to quantity over quality, getting all those ads in! I guess once your hobby becomes your job it eventually just becomes mundane and inevitably interest & energy is lost. I came across your channel because I had booked 4 weeks exploring the Outer Hebrides on my own with my dog. As the holiday was getting closer I was becoming more stressed about the ‘unknown’ … how I catch the ferries with a dog, where to get supplies etc. Your videos gave me the confidence to explore with no worries. I’m not particularly interested in caravans or trains but I’ve probably watched 98% of your videos because they are extremely interesting and informative but most of all, beautifully edited and somewhere in them I get to see your gorgeous dogs. Anyone who has followed a KZbinr for a good few years feels a connection and therefore just wants the person they follow to be happy and enjoy their life. I’m so glad you’re carving out a new chapter in your life and are happy with how things are going. I can’t wait to watch whatever you produce and don’t care when that is. Bonne Chance. 😊

Good man. I was genuinely shocked at what a pittance full-time YT-ing makes, given all of your efforts over the years, so I think you have 100% done the right thing. As you know I worked for myself in the caravan/motorhome press for five and half years and travelled all over Europe during that time, but the business of endlessly being away from home and never being sure how much cash would be in the bank in any given month soon palled. I'm glad I did it, but would I swap it for my current 9-5 working from home? Not a chance! Good luck with your new endeavours - this subscriber, for one, is going nowhere! 🙂

Sorry you're stopping the YT motorhome/ caravan vlogs. I'm subscribed to your channel entirely because you're authentic and not sycophantic and narcissistic. Look forward to future vlogs in whatever form they take...

KZbinrs are bound to have life changes. Patrick Dickenson has surfaced, kinda 😅. Paul Messner has decided to stop reviewing tents. 😢 You're not just in the entertainment business but you all, especially you Andrew have shared your life with us, including a lot of intimate details. I can speak for all those people who love you that we are eternally grateful for your values and inspiration. Of course it's up to you what decisions you make in your life and what ever they are, we're all rooting for you. Be happy Andrew and thanks again.

Sounds like a great plan and a big weight off your shoulders. I don't think any of your subscribers 'expect' regular videos, in fact I'm starting to appreciate more the occasional producers who have a good story and don't have to ask me my opinion on something. Anyway enjoy the new start, must say Dover looks great and enjoy your video making when you are ready to start it again - you are a great producer. Thanks.

I'm glad you found a job and feel happy. Take your time. Your best content comes from your integrity. By not depending financially on YT I believe we´ll see great content from you again. Take care. Hope to see you again at CSD next year.

Good for you Andrew, as as a biker myself I would say get out as much as you can because it frees the body & soul. Best of luck in all your new adventures ✌️

Well said.. there is no such thing as failure, only feedback. 7 years of interesting content and 70 k viewers is in no way a failure. Do what you want.
