Although Paul's Scouse accent doesn't seem as strong as John and George's, I can still hear it in Paul's accent.

Suddently it became more strong after November 1966... "Oh yeah, we want to get bettah, but if we're naht listened to and we cAn't even hear ourselves then we can't improve. So we're try'na ge better with things like recording" - this man who said that in December 1966 is definitely not Paul.

I'm from Liverpool, and I really don't have a very strong accent but theirs are like not there. This video is the best I've seen for having strong scouse accents, all of the others they don't sound very strong. Maybe that's because I'm so used to the accent though?
@msperfectionable7 жыл бұрын
I heard they tried covering it up but I'm not sure how true that is, I'd have to agree with you on that though it's not even there subtly

I guess the scouse accent would be like us in the States having a "country" accent. Or even an East Coast accent. Maybe that's the cockney of the States. Haha

Yeah but northerners are considered “rednecks” , it’s actually the opposite of the US. A scouse accent is still to this day associated with someone with limited schooling and of “lower class”, which is ridiculous

Reading your comment while I'm searching for examples of Lennon's Scouse accent, and I have just watched an interview from late 70's, where his accent is more American-like. So ye, indeed.

Interestingly, all Beatles but John come from a working class background, and people who come from such background usually have a thicker accent. John was raised by his aunt, who was married a middle class man called George Smith, even though his aunt herself came from a working class family. Still, it seems John's accent is more noticeable than Paul's, when it should have been the opposite.
@Alex-ox7fm6 ай бұрын
maybe a case of the more well off john trying to appear more modest and the more modest paul trying to appear more well off haha
