Finally!!!! After years of tinkering and trying to fix. YEARS!!!! Chevy inline sixes have the same egr stuff. I just used some socket cap bolts ground down, put them in, and capped with plugs.

Sorry I didn't note that. I don't have one in my hand but I made mine quite a bit longer than the stock thread. I think the stock thread is about 1/2" long and it's head sits flush with the block. If you go 3/4" or more, you should be fine. If you look close, there is plenty of thread showing after mine is seated. I think I did 3/4".

That's why my 345 does that. I have a 304 truck that somebody just cut the air tubes and blazed them shut, it does not whistle

Sweet!~ I have had two 345 scouts that did that Chirp, and never could figure out why. lol! now I know! my 78 I have now doesn't chirp but it still has the Air Injection pump on it.
