I don’t think it’s appropriate to include Tinsley in the same sentence as Fleming, McClain, and Cephas. Tinsley was an immediate contributor and an excellent complement to Parker Washington. I honestly believe Fleming & Cephas’s struggles make the season that Tinsley put together even more impressive. It isn’t easy to step into a new offense but Tinsley never looked out of place to me. Sure, he wasn’t a bona fide WR1 but I fondly remember him as a solid portal acquisition. Without him I’m not so sure that team would have been nearly as successful as they were.

We tend to agree, Christian. We tried massaging in the Tinsley's stuff as all the parallels between TInsley and Hudson were mostly positive. We were also caught off-guard with the late signing and scrambling to get this up lol

Tinsley is also still on an NFL roster. Not something I can say about most of our current receivers in the future

Came here to say the same thing, and now he's backtracking in the comments.

Yep, Tinsley was the best of the bunch and a good add.

@@ForTheBlogyBest thing about the Blogy is they let you know the behind the scenes. Great breakdowns, great insight and the content starts a dialogue. Writing great analytical copy in such a quick turnaround is super impressive. Give the Blogy some credit guys, especially when they’re saying it’s a scramble. The whole point of the video is to give their thoughts and start a dialogue in the comments!

He can get open and never drops a catchable ball. I’ll take it.

Good pickup. Allar can throw bullets and he has super strong hands. Not a complete answer to the receiver room, but definitely a positive addition.

Great break down!

Getting a guy who gets open and doesn’t drop the ball is a good start. They gotta get some guys who can stretch the field but also have a decent route tree.

Agree with the other comment that calling Mitchell Tinsley a "hype merchant" is an unnecessary jab that is also 100% factually inaccurate

Need solid play in the playoff, especially from Allar and WRs will be lined up to transfer in. Who doesn't want to catch balls from a probably Heisman candidate next year...

Seems like a nice addition but what this wide receiver really needs injected into it is more speed. We need guys that can create separation.

if Penn State has 3 reliable WR's and one of them is a top 10 WR, Drew Allar is going to look like the best QB in college football lmao.

I expect 55+ receptions 700+ yards 6 TDs think worth it! He will eat with Warren gone.

Also will get the type of passes Warren gets close range that takes pressure off new te and really gets us 3 te/wr short passing really helps the new te. Now Allar has 3 short range te/wr to pass to instead of only warren. Now need to get another really good wr to help mid deep range passes and we have a mix and that’s balanced.

Four wide outs, three tight ends coming in, but I guess there’s room with cuts looming. The latest escapee from Los Angeles looks to be a fix for Clifford’s diminishing production. 🙏 Not the biggest. Not the fastest. Not sure why USC played him at X. But he does have enough wingspan/ hands to be the possession receiver from the slot that we've been missing. Make contested catches in sticky coverage. Or, if the pattern is full for Ghostrider, The future tack spray pitchman has been reduced to a single catch in some games. To be the man, he's got to walk the aisle and beat the man covering him on the regular in the frozen confines of Beaver Stadium. No palm trees here.

I see another big body possession WR lacking speed. Hope I'm wrong but he'll be an avg WR at best at PSU. If he had more production at USC I'd be higher on him. His first 3 yrs at USC he had under 200 yds each season. In 2024 he had 462 yds. Not great. Hope we land Eric Rivers.
@ForTheBlogy6 күн бұрын
yeah, we're kind of beyond the sunshine-pumping of years past. Hopefully that came through in the commentary. If he can come close to or match Tinsley's production, it's a win
@brettk93166 күн бұрын
Yes on Rivers this is the possession WR we needed though dude catches everything.

Tinsley would be the #1 WR on this year’s team

Tinsley averaged 44.4 rec yds a game at Penn State. Let's slow down, everybody

Has to be better than Clifford who is NOT a B1G receiver at all

There is no comparison between Hudson and Fleming. Not sure why you kept going down that road.
