I gotta ask, what makes him not on the bedard, mcdavid, crosby level of prospects? Cause at first i bought that line until i watched him at the world jrs. At the jrs the way he controlled play it felt like watching mcdavid at the world jrs all those years ago. Idk just to me after the wjc i felt like celebrinni has been undersold. I think he could surprise people next year, im hoping 60ish given the right team.

I think it’s the lack of a game-breaking tool. He’s high-end across the board, but the shot isn’t elite like Bedard’s, the hands aren’t like Kane’s, the skating isn’t like McDavid’s. His game is founded on mature habits, great processing, and great usage of the tools he has.

@HadiK_Scouting I was so excited for Lafrenierer . My father in-law kept asking me what was so special about McDavid. I was high on him since his hatty at the u16 or u17. It was just the insane ability to explode anytime he got free by a couple of feet . Alex was dominant every aspect of the game. Physical back checks game winning goals no look assists. He was the most dominant all round star at the tournament I can remember. It didn't translate at least not yet. He's play much better, but anyone would with panarin. Byfield looked miles behind and I didn't understand why he was ahead of stuztle. These scouts see what will translate and what is just a superior player with teenagers but no exceptional skills to set them apart in the pros

I believe 1 draft had the oilers picking up messier in the third and Anderson in the 4th. Lowe was their 1st rounder. It's a science and a gamble. The main thing that I noticed with these prospects ranking is attitude. Mitchkov looked as good as Bedard until the Russian ban. Stamkos was on somewhat of a underwhelming 1st. That was before he dedicated himself and did the work on the summer.
