SCP Explained - Story & Animation

2 жыл бұрын

SCP 019 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as Monster Pot.
SCP-019 appears to be a very large ceramic vase.
Periodically, entities emerge from SCP019. Collectively, these are known as SCP-019-2. The entities vary in many aspects, but tend to be small, vaguely humanoid (though they may have animaloid features), and extremely hostile. They often choose to attack with teeth or claws. Although fairly delicate (also, surprisingly, flammable), they are reasonably strong and pose a considerable threat in large numbers.

Yeah, like they don't spread outside the facility at the end. Dr Light reacts pretty calmly to the horde of 019s, saying they'll die in a couple days. So even if they reach ludicrous numbers, there's a limit to how far they can spread.

Yeah, just need to turn in the paperwork to have it changed from Euclid to Keter, get a cleaning team in, request some more personnel, change the extermination and disposal method to something else every so often, and, oh yeah, maybe let her former colleague's next of kin know about their death, or give them amnestics, whatever the foundation's policy is when it comes to that sort of thing. Just another day at the foundation... Or for the rest of us, "Holy s***! That was insane! How could you be so freaking calm after that?!?" But, y'know, that's why we're not members of the SCP foundation.

I think it's a product of not having the time to construct long unique backgrounds and not wanting to do a Hanna Barbara style hallway, but the slow running characters do in these is always kind of funny. Looping background animations are a bit corny, but they might be the way to go.

So I'm actually an archaeologist (doing CRM work but ya know, still an archaeologist) and at first hearing the framing narrative I was thinking, "well this is silly, we don't just reach into pots we can't see into without thinking about it," and then I started actually thinking about it-- I had a scorpion crawl up inside my pant leg (didn't know at first) and I grabbed it in the fabric and squished it and shook it out, had a few moments to be like "oh wow that could have been bad, this one is small and those are the more venomous ones and I'm a good 3-4 hours away from a hospital" and then I just got back to work. Like, hey, I didn't get stung so it's all good. Then a few days after that I was crawling around in a rock shelter to get the soil for sifting and despite being terrified of spiders, I didn't even think about the fact that there were probably tons of spiders hanging out in there. Also, to identify bone I regularly just stick my tongue to it to see if it sticks (bone will slightly stick to your tongue) without even thinking about what I might be ingesting so yeah, I would probably go sticking my hand into a giant pot, though I might try shining a flashlight in first. And I would probably not lean a ladder against it because that could break or scrape it up and that would suck.

@Deidara525

@@CronusVelox well they're most likely to be animal bones. If we find human bones, we have to immy stop and call the police, even if we know for a fact they are hundreds of years old, just to cover ourselves and go through the right channels. Plus, when we're encountering things that we think might be bones but aren't positive about, we're typically excavating them from a test unit, so they're already covered in dirt, a little spit isn't gonna really harm them at that point. As for my safety, I typically make sure to wipe my tongue off after testing, and I don't need to do it all that often since I can be pretty certain if I have a bone based on other cues (visual, the feel of it, etc) and I only do it if I am not 100% certain.

It's definitely at least Euclid and potentially keter if the creatures evolve too far and/or develop increased longevity. It is actively trying to break out constantly and is capable of adapting to containment methods. While it is fairly easy to contain while spitting out a single visible, flammable instance each hour, it's impossible to know what tricks it could manifest or when it will spawn a massive hoard. The way it suddenly adapted to sneak out of containment suggests that it might even be controlled by an intelligent will and can somehow learn from its failures. If this were a matter of random mutation, you'd think that there would be more variety in the creatures prior to the invisible one and even the invisible one would probably have attacked someone rather than sneaking out to chew wires.

Both skips adapt to their opposition, with 682 adapting a lot quicker. Odds are that 682 would easily overcome the threat and become marginally more powerful in the process. In the worst case, the evolutionary arms race will accelerate the adaptation of both making both objects significantly more difficult to contain.

Newcomer to the channel here. There are a lot of videos to go through, so it's hard to search, but I'm interested in Thaumiel-class SCPs. Are there any videos on them? If not, are there any planned? For those who don't know, a Thaumiel-class object is an SCP used to help with the containment or concealment of other SCPs. For example, SCP-3000 is a creature that secretes a substance that is harvested and processed into the amnestics the Foundation uses to erase memories.
