It wouldn't really do anything, because pacemakers and internal insulin pumps aren't dangerous weapons or anything, and are supposed to remain inside the body, helping with certain conditions, so the infected pump/pacemaker would probably just do exactly that.

You, and guy in comments may be a bit wrong. The thing is Mars Priesthood against any AI, and allows only most simple ones to be used, like castellan robots. By this logic mechanicus could be ok with these guys but, the thing is that there's several reasons why actually Adeptus Mechanicus would purge them out of existence: 1. Is it even AI? Or organic creature? Such ambiguity of genesis would probably disturb most of loyal mechanicus, after all usually you can see no line between machine and flesh only in something corrupted by chaos, like obliterators. They may research this SCP, but only for writhing down info into book of forbidden things. Of course they could use it as a weapon, but considering catastrophic consequences of 658s breach they can consider it too dangerous, plus if they actually infect only man made tech makes it pretty situational. 2. It's probably not made by a human, and by their law there must be only technologies invented by man 3. It's uncontrollable destructive parasite, which will spoil their holy machines, it'll be unacceptable for mechanicus

The botfly instance was only mimicing what the office worker was using the keyboard for- "How can I help you, do you have any questions- Ask and we will answer..." then waiting an hour to respond to the customer, i.e. start rampaging again. The keyboard's pattern was no different than the child's toy mimicing his voice.

I think it's a crime to actually NOT reasearch as what would happen if the phone that got touched (impregnated) by the mutated SCP-658 ( 9:04 ) tranformed. My theory is all the objects touched buy a normal 1 eyed 4 legged SCP-658, resulted in a single lump, and when the object transformed, it grew 4 legs and a single eye which most of the times are located where the lump was. so... when the phone impregnated with the mutated SCP-658, i think that the phone also will grow 8 legs and 2 eyes... which does very little to change the population growth since the phone just is a single SCP-658.. with just more eyes and legs. ¯\(°_°)/¯ ..

As long as it doesn't come into physical contact with any tech, it can't infect it, and not all infected tech is necessarily going to be dangerous (e.g. a tablet infected by 658 probably wouldn't start killing people), so as long as any instances are destroyed/contained, it's fine. You could even trap one inside a wooded crate with some duct tape sealing it in, and the SCP would be rendered useless.

Bottom half of each specimen contains four spiderlike, highly flexible legs and a single "eye". Appearance and structure of upper half is different in every SCP-658. SCP-658 remain active at all times, despite appearing to lack any power source. While behavior varies between instances, when otherwise unoccupied most tend to explore their surroundings; SCP-658 are capable of running at varying speeds, climbing up even flat vertical walls, and swimming. SCP-658 are capable of reproduction, achieved through "impregnating" other machines. "Machine", in this case, is essentially defined as any complex manmade mechanism. This includes items as disparate as wristwatches, typewriters, personal computers, motor vehicles, and - though rarely - other SCP-658. Impregnation is carried out via a poorly-understood process that requires only momentary physical contact. As a result of the process, an "embryo" will appear inside the machine (hereafter referred to as "host"). The embryo initially appears to be a featureless lump of plastic and metal measuring 1 mm, but develops and grows quickly within its host. As an embryo expands, it connects and incorporates increasingly more of its host's internal mechanisms into its own structure. The embryo partially takes on the task of maintaining the functions of its host, whose users usually fail to notice anything is amiss, and believe that the host machine is working no less effectively than usual; however, visible minor "glitches" and anomalies, as well as external deformation, tend to appear toward the end of the "gestation". Resultant combination of SCP-658 has been described as resembling "conjoined twins". Object(s) are capable of impregnating machinery as usual, with two embryos implanted instead of one. In this incident the SCP-658 "pregnancy" displayed capability to spread along electrical wiring somehow. On ██/██/19██, instances of SCP-658 (40 by 20 by 15 cm) all emerged simultaneously from loudspeakers throughout the site. The objects were typically outfitted with a chaotic array of speakers, broadcasting various arbitrary transmissions at full volume; the song "Happy Birthday" recurred among the transmissions with unusual frequency. Outburst of SCP-658 eventually subdued, but at least four specimens escaped into the wild.

Based on how easily it can spread world wide and the threat it poses if it does. I wouldn't even use a regular building to contain it. I would just use a big metal cube in a remote place and use a sunroof and candles as light sources, make any vehicles park 20 feet away, and surround the site with 2 chain link fences with no hinges. Even the guards would use bats and spears. No walkie-talkies or phones, all what they'll wear is the protective vest, pants, and the clothes underneath.

If this ....thing got out of containment, and, loose in a major city, can you imagine how screwed 90-95% of the world's population would be, almost immediately!? Not to scare or alarm anyone, but there are several types of botfly. I learned about a couple of them, such as Cuterebra (rodent botfly) and Hypoderma bovis (cattle botfly), in my Veterinary Technician classes in college and they're pretty interesting. Gross, but interesting. If you get easily grossed out, I don't recommend looking up Cuterebra. Also, I am willing to tell more about them to those who would like to know.

Honestly, half the SCPs I read are incorrectly classified. How is SCP 1048 (literally a teddy bear that can replicate itself, and cause a bit of harm) keter, but this thing euclid? Builder Bear might have memetic effects, but it doesn't pose a danger to humanity as a whole.
