@beansforwhat2 жыл бұрын
Hi, welcome to the world of professionally written research papers. In case that doesn't make sense to you, a lot of professional research/study papers are written with lesser-known words (or "jargon", as you call it) for the sake of brevity, and they often expect readers to know or learn the meanings of the words, because *the papers are not written for the average person.* The intended audience is made of people who are specialized in the discussed subject. In layman's terms, there is "jargon" because people writing SCP articles are getting better at creating a (somewhat) realistic world. (Also, the classification stuff isn't nonsense, it would make sense if you looked into it, just like everything else.)

Your voice work and 3D model is as usual flawless! Good job! I don't like these SCPs that try to impress you with an old cultist dude talking about cosmic gods and stuff... I'm like. M'kay, I never saw these gods... And I don't need the guy to tell me the lore! Like "OoOoh And thEre ShalL Lie The nebulae Of ZebUlon!!! Son Of Cthuluuuuu" I like SCPs when you don't know anything, SCPs that take these cosmic seemingly out of this world stuff with a disturbing calm and bureaucratic tome. 173 is far better in that regard, because it DOESN'T tell you anything about its origins. And THAT's what's great about it! If 173 was rewritten today it would most likely featuring a member of a secret cult talking like all members of all secret cults in the SCP universe and calling himself "children of [insert random ominous name here]." And then we would discover that the interviewer would be converted to the cult because he saw the light or whatever... Would that make 173 better? No, it would loose its mystery and simplicity. These more recent SCPs that try tto shove down their lil' lore down your throat screams insecurity to me. And I just see more and more of them. SCPs that are an excuse to tell a pseudo cosmic-grandiose story about far away gods that you need an illuminated character to tell you all plainly about as if it was the intro to a movie... Ah, Really these SCPs are just an excuse for an author to tell you all about his special dream fantasy game/novel with his 7 races, 12 continents and complex magic system while taking it all VERY seriously. Cool, but that's not what made SCP great. :) (Oooh Blimey I wrote a lot... )
