My best guess is that 579 is able to instantly provide the answer to any question or information that someone is seeking without fail when you are in its presence. It makes the most sense to me seeing as the whole story is filled with unanswered questions that are driving the character forward but at the last moment he seems to suddenly understand everything. It would also explain the revert, 055 in the suitcase erases your knowledge of it but given that he had been carrying this hole time and could not know what it was would raise the question in his mind "What's inside here?". So the paradox isn't the 2 SCPs meeting, the paradox is 579 answering something that can't be answered. That's at least my thoughts on the whole story.

It’s appearance kinda reminds me of the pibby virus a bit. Another theory of mine is that it’s some entity that manages paradoxes. To somehow contain a paradox it needed Pietro to come to its chamber so it can kill him and then send the suit into another universe where it’ll loop around. Using the briefcase thing as fish bait so he can come faster, that explains the briefcases ability to teleport him faster. It might have also made the suit for it to loop around. The timeline goes like this: 05 council turns evil and declares war on humanity, Pietro’s facility is invaded by the ops, he’s forced to put on the suit, he eventually gets to 579’s chamber in that universe, 579 sends the suit back to another universe, that universe’s scientists put the suit on the stand, and repeats at step 1.

It's been 2 years, but here's a slight correction that I've seen nobody mention: According to the SCP file, he didn't jump, land hard, create his last log entry, pass off the briefcase and *then* die. He knew the height was fatal and that he'd have to throw the briefcase mid-jump after which he'd die from the impact of landing. So he creates the log *before* he makes the jump where he asks his "Why?" questions, ending the log with "They're about to get in. First foot forward.". The actual last log during his fall is the "Oh … so that's how it is." after which he impacts the ground and dies.

But if I recall correctly, then it's him realizing the answer to why this is all happening. I think he's saying that sentence *after* he died, realizing the full extent of what has actually happened with humanity. That is, that they all suffer for all eternity after they die (due to a psychic parasite that has infected all of humanity). When he was alive he was clueless, but after his fall and subsequent death, he notices that he still exists and can feel everything. His "Oh, so that's how it is" is a sobering realization of this. At least that's how I interpret it.^^

He's making less and less progress and feeling more and more fatigued after each use because the parasitic SCP that the Foundation is trying to eradicate isn't as able to give him as much of a "pep-talk" (27:23 - it's explained more in the actual SCP-5000 article) due to being slowly weakened since all infected humans are being killed off. It's not that he's becoming immune to SCP-055 "The Anti-Meme" but rather than he's no longer able to enjoy the pep-talks from the parasite SCP, which is trying to keep its presence hidden so only contacts him directly when it knows memory of it will be erased... so he's putting the Anti-Meme back in the briefcase quicker and quicker.

@@alexjgilpin When considering that IT was the one pushing Pietro to do the world reset, Pietro might not have actually saved the world since IT was likely pushing for the world reset because the 05 Council was successfully defeating it, if not at the cost of humanity itself. As such, IT decided to try again by resetting the stage and hoping that next time Project Pteuma wouldn't find it in the next reset to win this time. If IT was something so horrible that genocide of humanity was considered the ethical option, then it must be unfathomably horrific.

Well it was his willpower that made him a hero. Despite all the horror of death, destruction and pain, he soldiered on in the hope to destroy the Foundation and save humanity. And he did, just not in the way he intended. Yes, the Foundation survived, but considering how successful they were in destroying humanity, I'd say it's definately a necessary evil. Plus they keep the dangerous SCPs locked up. And yes he was controlled, but he knew that his goal was primary and 5000s was secondary, and that he put up with that so he could continue with his mission.

First off spc 5000 is Project Pneuma or rather the mapping of the psychospace. Scp foundation finds out about "the entity " a being subsisting off the pain of all humanity and enslaving them beyond death. Due to cignito hazard scp 2781 High Council saw the truth and needed to end humanity killing the entitys power. This channel got most of it wrong and did zero legwork on the research.

I feel like entity is the "voice in our head" when we talk to ourselves in our minds. -It's a collective unconscious. -It speaks in a way that we would recognize as ourselves. -We sometimes use it to determine whether or not we want to be positive or negative. -It coincides with our fight or flight response (Like ow, this hurts, run. According to the author of the SCP-5000 story, a majority of it was right. Though there are still some unanswered questions. To be frank, that night of when I wrote my original comment, I spent a few hours reading the story and reading the "Declassify". The world of SCP isn't my forté either, but if you budget your time, you can find a decently sized read.

I think you may have missed that the SCP-5000 tale is a looping story. Pietro's logs in the SCP-5000 suit is what caused him to be the one to escape in the suit. When he was interrogated about the logs and his corpse, he was informed about its existence. This led him to seek it out during the Zeta-19 attack.

The entire reason we can deduce that The Foundation made a “cure” to IT is that 1. IT resides in our collective unconscious but also that 2. *Dr. Bright was unaffected by the second document* Because what is his anomalous power? *His consciousness resides in the amulet, not in his body*. He described the “Harden your heart” document as having a feeling like “something was being ripped out [of me],” which, if “IT” is an intrinsic human emotion like empathy, wouldn’t affect Bright, or at least the Bright inside the amulet, since the amulet protects his consciousness.

an interesting interpretation of this is that "it" is not entirely a thing. "It" is a concept. Specifically, the concept that SCP is not real. No one in that universe is real. They are characters in a story. They need not feel pain. Once they have realized they are not real, every piece of suffering in the world is unnecessary. It serves no purpose. The only way to therefore end suffering is to end all existence. Which is why they didn't use the instant delete the universe SCPs, because that might affect the real world. They needed their own fake world destroyed to save everyone from pain. But they can't destroy everything. Only that which isn't real. "Harden your Heart" was not a reference to just going ape shit. It specifically refers to doing the awful acts that must be done for the end of suffering in the world. Likewise, "We fight in the light so you can die in the dark" is not referring to a moral standpoint. It's referring to a standpoint of understanding. Knowledge so terrible that to die is better than to know. It is a mercy to die without realizing you never existed. That's why the Global Occult Commission folks were so badly affected. The revelation that nothing is real. Or rather, there is reality. But they aren't a part of it. Which is why the prisoner didn't want to tell them. Same thing with the knife check. They aren't real. They can't feel pain. They can't bleed or die. Because they don't exist. And they understand that. However the one who didn't know still reacted. Because to him he was still real. As was the knife. As for other things that might be considered clues, but that I did not take into account: I believe the name Pneuma does not apply to "it" directly, and is not a Clue. Pneuma it is greek for "soul", or more literally "that which is breathed". which is why the root "Pneuma" is present in "pneumatic", as pneumatics are operated via pressure, and related to air and breath. As such, Pneuma was simply the name of the project in-universe, as the foundation likes sounding dramatic. The issue with the boy and the worms is not a clue to the overarching theme either I believe, as it's an isolated occurrence not repeatedly observed, like SCP-610. A part of the attack, not part of the cause. The "Blinkers" are not, I believe, related to the overarching reason because of their likewise localized appearances. While disturbing and numerous, they had a low geographical area of affect, only being witnessed near Site-62c. I just realized... this whole story could be A AMAZING GAME! Picture it with me, you play as pietro. Him escaping the facility at the start is the basic tutotial about Stealth and then Combat with the soldiers. Then it becames a mixture of Survival Horror and Hack-N-Slash. You survive for yourself in the apocaliptic world while unlocking more skills for the suit. It would be like playing a Open World DayZ but more scarier and with superpowers. There can be many minions enemies to fight too, like the Pink Flamingos NPCs or the blood dogs (forgot their name). Also the viruses SCPs, as well as the SCP Soldiers, and etc. We can have many minions mobs for us to fight. Then theres chapters and build-up, like after seeing Shy Guy in the TV being a foreshadow for in later "chapters" of the campaing you having a boss fight that you must constantly run from him during gameplay at some parts, like a "certain" juggernault in Resident Evil we all know... Then imagine a part where we gotta take down the leviathan. It would be so nice. *EDIT:* Forgot to mention that of course some aspects of the story must be changed for both the games sake and gameplay aspects. For example, in the universe of this game the suit will have to be WAY more busted, so we can take down at least most of these SCPs with enough upgrades. Maybe have different endings based on what we do like running from the SCPs or trying hard enough to kill them leads to different endings. Something like Undertale too that depending on which SCP you kill or not also affects the ending? ALSO The suitcase can be the Fast Travel mechanic.

You forgot to mention that SCP-049 is also aware of what “It” is alongside 682 and 079 in particular. This is why 049 “cures us” by turning people into zombies, thus depriving them of what “makes us feel pain”. SCP-5000 is a conglomerate of SCP’s, where many play a pivotal part in its story.

It's intentionally undefined but remember: after 05 got rid of IT in them they no longer felt no empathy, no pain and had no hope for humanity. You could have argued that they were right to fight IT if they tried something else, letting humanity to exist and develop further. But they didn't care about humanity, with or without emotions. They themselves said about they one soldier they killed that they found the one that is alive. Considering this set of evidence, it's safe to conclude that absence of IT made them worse from the point of view of life itself. If you are alive - you have a "duty" to stay alive. I like living things. I don't like dead things or some matter like rocks that were never alive. And if you are alive - you should too.

I heard that due to their nature, the “blinkers” were actually instances of people turned into scp 173, explaining their ability to only move when unseen. In the wiki you can see an image of pure blackness with the filename "lookcloser", the image appears in the middle of Pietro's 2 last log "Why is this happening" and "Oh, so that's how it is". If you put that image in a certain place, you discover a secret log about the O5 discussion about what they discovered. Does this mean that at the last moment, Pietro discovered the real reason of why was this happening? And if yes, who gave it to him, 5000, 579 or 055?

For some reason this always makes me think of SCP-0001 the database, and IT is how people in the SCP universe would perceive us. It's also the only situation I can think of where the Foundation would willingly destroy the world because there is no other option. Also Pietro acts as an avatar doing what the narrator wants him to do. He's even wearing plot armour.

"IT" does show up in the story. The huge elongated figure standing taller than the clouds with tears in space for wings. It was the only anomaly the SCP foundation was actually still fighting against. It was "IT" made manifest. Interesting idea though. "IT" being, literally, us. The creators, readers, viewers, etc of the SCP universe. And specifically, humanity in the universe. So yea if humanity in the universe were to be killed there would be no more "us". So no more new SCPs either.

This makes me think wonder if IT is SCP-000 (which can only be found by going to an SCP link and changing the number to "000") because it's a meta SCP that I interpreted as the site itself with its desire to destroy everything (including itself) because then it will stop being forced to make creations it can't see. This fits with something with a nature like that but is nefarious unlike the "S.W.A.N.N. Entities" you mentioned. The main problem with this theory is that SCP-000 is known for screaming which it doesn't in that form... so yeah.

Sort of sad that that the meeting with Dr. Bright wasn't added to this telling of 5000. Stands in as a much needed break for Pietro for a proper breather, but also some more context about the whole scenario. While it doesn't explain how and why everything is happening, does give you a hint of how all staff of the SCP foundation went murder happy. Bright was unaffected from whatever the second document contained. Concluding that the medallion Dr. Bright wears protected him from the effects, which he described as something tried to pull something out of his mind and not being implanted. There's then his own escape plan, as he planned to throw the medallion into SCP-1437 (the hole that connects to different realities but kills any living thing that tries to travel through it) hoping that the medallion makes it through and gets picked up.
