i dont think so, its probably because they want to have something more open than the limits of a comic. The comics only have at max like 7D as a limit, SCP is basically removing the limit to infinite possibilities. As well as adding more creativity to what the comics are. By the way, some of the characters are literal concepts above comprehension so duh... And if you actually did some of your own research to get the whole story of eveything, you would know that there is an actual background for most characters/objects/things

The lowest tier gods in the scp universe are considered countless infinity stacked upon countless infinity. And Skarlet King has been consuming them for an infinite set of infinity/countless times for infinity since his creation. And also almost destroyed the concept of creation itself being the tree of knowledge. Even one of his children being the infamously known genocidal crocodile with super insane regeneration and adaptability can even counter plot, and is the literal embodiment of adaption and upon destruction will wipe out entire universes since he is made up of them (which is just one of his avatars, his true form is countless set of infinity stacked on infinity too since he scales with Scarlet King). The scp universe is fanmade with stupidly broken and unfair items/beings that are based off of purely imagination. And just off what you said for what the unwritten universe is, it is also purely imagination. Even the "weakest" entries from the scp universe can probably wipe out all of the mainstream universes with barely any sweat.
