When Day Breaks SCP-3008

SCP 001 is an Apollyon Class anomaly also known as When Day Breaks.
SCP 3008 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as Infinite Ikea.
SCP-001 is the designation given to the Sun, after an event occurred that resulted in roughly 6.8 billion casualties within the first twenty-four hours. Upon contact with visible light produced by SCP 001, living organisms liquefy at the point of contact, with the effect spreading until the entire organism is converted into a form resembling melted wax. Organisms exposed to SCP001 though, do not perish.
SCP-3008 is a large retail unit previously owned by and branded as IKEA, a popular furniture retail chain. A person entering SCP3008 through the main entrance and then passing out of sight of the doors will find themselves translocated to SCP-3008-1.
SCP 3008-1 is a space resembling the inside of an IKEA furniture store, extending far beyond the limits of what could physically be contained within the dimensions of the retail unit.

When Day Breaks is so terrifying because of how sudden it is like disaster. You don't have time to prepare. The foundation may know that it could happen but never when or if it could. Like doing a normal day then suddenly a flash flood happens, sweeping everyone away.

This channel is based from the channel info graphics that use presets characters they dont draw them by hand many of the buildings and people you see are pre made and if they have made it previously they will use it when needed. This is great becuase they explain scp's in way for many to understand.

One little fact that makes "when day breaks" much worse is that it's not actually safe at night. Due to the moon reflecting the light of the sun, the moonlight will have the same melting effect as the daylight.

The surface of the moon has geology that makes it REFLECT the light of the sun, thus day or night, if you see light, IT IS FROM THE SUN in one way or another! It's the same principle as a MIRROR: If you point a mirror, that is exposed to sunlight, towards something you see the sun's light reflected towards whatever it is you are pointing it at... except the moon is so far away the light encompasses the full width of Earth by the time it reaches us, same as the sun itself.

Come to think of it. It's more likely staff members consider the blobs as enemy too and attack them at night fall. They're also organisms not native to the store so it only makes sense that the store considers them hostile too. 682 was sent in there in a cross-test and it was confirmed the staff attacked him. So I don't think they would ignore the blobs.

In the animated KZbin series Confinement the infinite IKEA episode had a community built up on a pillar and was pretty safe, but it didn’t seem like they were anywhere near the ceiling which was interesting.

@@demoneon9527 I guess the IKEA's ceiling is also infinite. The safest place has to be underground, though it's possible that the IKEA's floor is indestructible. Even if you could penetrate the ground there's a chance that you will see an abyss, still worth the shot though.

This will allow them to be completely safe from most dangerous anomalies, the rate of survival will go up 98% with the 2% accounting for the residents outside exploration for resources and the small chance that outside anomalies wonder into the IKEA.

Shouldn't the blob have tried to take IKEA workers thinking they're humans? Or at the very least, shouldn't the IKEA workers have tried to attack the blob because it wasn't leaving the shop? I don't know if it was just me, but I was waiting for more chaos and confrontation between all three parties, and not such a coordinated attack from the blob and the IKEA workers against the humans. It seemed as if the author of the story cheated, telling the monsters not to attack each other. Also: shouldn't the blob be trying to bring its victims under the sunlight? That means a blob gets a victim and then spends possibly all of eternity trying to get out of the precinct.

Yeah there are other daybreak stories that assume the staff would attack the the 001-A's and visa versa triggering a swarming of staff that would try to beat the mass to a pulpier pulp. Which of course doesn't work, and the 001-A only breaks off to carry victims outside, that story made the convenient assumption that the fighting took place close to a temporary exit so if a 001-A would get lost is still up in the air, it was also conveniently night time when the story ended so the meltability of staff was also left unanswered.

So to touch on a few questions here: We have a precedent for what the staff will and won't attack, while they attack most everything, there are acceptions to these targeting perimeters. While 001-A's could possibly be attacked by the staff, it is unclear whether the 001-A's would even be able to get into the Infinite IKEA, as it hasn't happened yet in ANY universe. If there was a universe it happened in, there would be some kind of evidence of it, possible leaks of those 001-A's into other realities as one of the many forgotten properties of the Infinite IKEA, you are not guaranteed to return to your original universe when going through an exit of the Infinite IKEA. Ontop of that 001-A's possibly are intelligent enough to know the threat the Infinite IKEA posses as they will have consumed some SCP Staff. Likely enough, The 001-A's would leave the IKEA alone whether intentional, or because the prospect of most humans being instructed to make their way to SCP Sites.

It is even hinted that they might be happy with what happened to them. Every other video after SCP Ilustrated about SCP-001 "Thousand Voices": THey FeeL so MucH PAin ...Like why are people doing this? Why are they taking one most scary aspect of this SCP - the one were humans are happily giving away their own humanity because of the anomalous effect, where they urge people to join and become like them - and instead they go with the clishe standard B-class horror movie shit? Even the author of the Thosand Voices story made a note about how he changed a bit of canon, in which they feel pain so that his story has more "Haloween vibe" to it.

The file for When Day Breaks does imply that the post-transformation entities are "happy" with their situation, but it doesn't specify whether or not the transformation itself is painful. It says that the entities fusing together isn't painful, but that's it. So unless I missed something, I don't think it's necessarily incorrect to portray the transformation as painful. I don't think it'd make the entities less scary either (in fact I think it'd make the whole sun-zealot thing _more_ scary), but that's just my opinion.

Also funny when I read other story about When Day Breaks The Infinite Ikea. When Melted attack SCP 3008, Staffs doesn't just fight Human but somehow team up with Human against Melted as Melted doesn't just target on Human but also Staffs as well, they did fight as best as they can but slowly they been drag out into universe where I think probably other universe as because Copper appear and chase Melted away, release Staffs and Human they they try fled back into SCP 3008 but only for Staffs while Human notice same way that Staff enter have vanish and now they been greet by MTF. I see this videos just make Staff just same as before

I feel like remaining SCP personnel from day one of the endless nightmare known as "when day breaks" would have an escape operation to enter SCP-3008. They would 100% have basic army equipment, (land deployment vehicles, ECT) that they could enter and set up a bastion for survival near the food courts. They could essentially survive as long as possible to figure out a way to neutralize the risk of SCP-001 or just outright restart a new generation of humanity. After all, the Ikea is infinite.

I'm curious about one thing. Would the blob creature of 001 be considered a person (or persons) to the staff? They're technically still human, so the staff would likely attack the blob once night came around. Also, would the same apply the other way around? The blob creature seems to seek humans to bring into the sun, so would it attack the staff and try to bring them out into the sun? Plus, would that even work, since the staff are just made of flesh? The staff have no organs, so would they just melt and die?

Not really. They can go in, but the taking part is where it gets tricky for them

The reason is the Exits are always on the move and they very rarely lead to the same dimensions twice. And there are The Staff that will view these blobs as hostile and attempt to swarm them in kind. Never underestimate the Ikea.

I do believe there are a few roaming in the infinite Ikea, however they are definitely kept busy by the Staff to notice any settlers and are too trapped with no way to procreate more blobs in WDB sunlight.

I kinda wish that you spread out videos about similar topics over a longer period of time instead of posting them day after day. Before this "When Day Breaks" streak you had one about Dr. Bright, and another one about SCP-682, and another one about SCP-049. I think spreading those videos out would make for a more varied daily viewing experience. So people who aren't interested in a certain topic can always come back tomorrow for something new.
