This SCP is actually really interesting and creative. It basically puts you in the perspective of a crow looking at a scarecrow but the other way around. Instead of seeing a humanlike figure that only moves when you aren't looking, it's instead an inaminate figure. Crows basically said "ok you know what? See what it's like in my shoes for once"

Don't forget that with the many different writers for the Foundation's entries, their levels of ruthlessness is bound to vary dramatically. Some will have them as fairly reasonable, while for others they practically stride the line between stupidity and insanity. I've personally learned to just chalk it up as: "If all entries are canon, and so is parallel universes - then the stories where the Foundation does incomprehensibly stupid things are in those universes where things are just far less fortunate for everyone."

They also said that SCP-2376-1 instances' movement can't be perceived while being looked at, but they can still move, & than in every part of the video other than early in the video, they didn't move while being looked at. They said that you have to intentionally close your eyes to see any movement & that you can't see their movement in videos, but if they could still move while being looked at & it just wouldn't be perceived, then automatic blinking would be enough to make their movement visable, & they could make their movement visable on videos by simply making every other frame a black screen. An easy fix would be to simply say that they can't move while being looked at. The part about having to close your eyes every 5 minutes & see if they type anything would still make sense because close your eyes is vague, so the amount of time is only limited by context, so in this case it could mean anything from 1 second to 30 seconds, & 30 seconds is probably enough time for a SCP-2376-1 instance type something.

1:45 this brings up a point I have been questioning for a while. Anomalies are anomalies because they defy our laws of physics in some way but what if our laws are just wrong? We used to believe that the Sun revolves around Earth but that was changed due to scientific advancement. That begs the question: If the laws of physics changed in the future, could that cause some anomalies to be re classified as normal?
@Master_E444
@Master_E444 2 жыл бұрын
Anomalies that are understood due to breakthroughs in scientific studies and research are designated as Explained. There was a dice that was believed to cause D&D based hallucinations but really it was lined with standard hallucinogens. There was also a rock that emitted radiation in high quantities, later identified as a simple radioactive element. There are likely many more things that were considered anomalous until recent advancements in our understanding
@arlenfreeman3439
@arlenfreeman3439 2 жыл бұрын
@@Master_E444 And part of the Foundation's mission is to find out how these anomalies do or do not violate science. If they can figure out how and why it works, they can quietly and gradually slip a few "discoveries" on the nature of the universe to the public without breaking the veil.

@@justacanofapples8885 maybe that is part of the anomaly, the moment you are touched by someone that isn't infected, you are rendered motionless. Also people blink all the time, therefore you can get an image of where the scarecrow may be at, grab it, and throw it out. Even if the person tries to escape, they wont since the person has them around there arms and as long as they do that, the scare crow will be in there hands. That is the part that is anomalous which is why one cannot explain it very well so it makes there are gigantic holes in the explanation, and why I'm struggling I explain what is happening.

Thank you for the well wishes. I'm okay, for the most part. Living my life as best as I can with the tools that I have available. It's just really painful most of the time.

Someone infected by this disease could easily be a criminal and steal stuff.

What would happen if Dr. Bright got this disease, and after death, to be put on a new body? Would the disease persist? Would it be "cured?"

I wonder, what if someone infected SCP-2376 but without the symptoms and can move normally. But the scary part is, what if this infected person is a serial killer; killing people and nobody will notice except a scarecrow.

What if a camera does indeed capture a victim as a human with a rash and spasms, but onlookers percieve even such images as a scarecrow, even though its not?

I'm starting to notice a trend when these are uploaded, the thumbnail always ends up having to be changed after a couple of hours

Here's some food for thought: "What if" the origin of this virus is what has infected SCP-173 the moving statue? Could be unrelated, but at the same time could fill in some holes such as SCP-187's reaction when seeing the statue

I was thinking that scp-2376 is the origin of scp-847 a living mannequin who hates woman and turns them into mannequin which it uses for spare body parts

Couldn't you put the instances in the same space?? Could they see and interact with them?

Unless the disease make the infected bond to their beds, I can see how this can make someone dangerous.

Proposal for new Mobile Task Force Sigma-20 "Rag Dolls": Comprised of instances of SCP-2376-1 who have made a recovery to full mobility and are no longer contagious. MTF Sigma-20 would be able to undertake a variety of missions virtually undetected. Given the inability of non-anomalous humans, most anomalous humans, and some humanoid entities (continued cross testing needed) to perceive movement from instances of SCP-2376-1, along with Foundation covert ops training, MTF Sigma-20 members would be highly effective in infiltration and covert combat. Individual members would mostly need to work solo due to them being unable to perceive one another, though various methods of communication and tactics have been proposed. Viability testing of the concept is currently awaiting O5 review.

Are we sure that the Doctor had nothing to do with this and it got out of hand. Sounds like the fury of the Doctor to me.
