Thank you for uploading these! This show was awesome and I can only hope it comes back someday, in this form, just with the money scaled up (hey, ABC has done really well doing that lately...) It was nice of them to give two absolutely "meatball down the center of the plate" Bonus Sprint clues to send the show off the way it needed to be. If he was wanting to show off for the finale, this could have been the first Bonus Sprint in history to be finished with 10.0 still on the clock! ...as an aside, I swear someone on this show had a fetish for cannabalism with just how friggin' often "cannibals" was used throughout the show's run.

Here's something interesting: On Sale of the Century, they forgot to tell the champ's final total on their finale. It happened here on Scrabble's finale too.

John Rambo and George Sealy both won $6,000 on each of the show's finales.

Well for some of the staff after Scrabble, some of them moved on to greener things. Gary Johnson becomes the judge and head writer for The Challengers. Chris Darley is director of Supermarket Sweep. Deb Dittman moves on to Jeopardy. Jacqueline Frazier, Greg Murphy, Bill Paulsen, Wendy Rotoli, Paul Zigabarra, and Manuel Montez stay on for Classic Concentration. Issac Mayo becomes associate producer for Match Game 90 with Ross Shafer. Gordy Morris and Ron Paul are stage managers for Love Connection.

Chris Darley also became the director for Hollywood Squares with Tom Bergeron as well. The aforementioned other technical staff members Jacqueline Frazier, Bill Paulsen, Wendy Rotoli, Paul Zigabarra also worked on Chuck’s former show Wheel of Fortune in the later years of its NBC Daytime run and later syndicated eps. that taped at NBC and the aforementioned crew would also work on the 1990s version of To Tell the Truth as well.

@@megamanj2004X I think Jacqueline Frazier did To Tell the Truth 1990. I noticed that. I noticed on Sale of the Century finale credits, in the makeup credit it was Donna Maret Fahrenholz. In the Scrabble finale credits when it came to the makeup credits, Donna dropped the Fahrenholz.

5:00 I kept telling them, Look, find someone else to do the show, it’ll be a huge hit! Look what happened to Wheel! Funny how Wheel of Fortune became a major hit after Chuck Woolery left.

Wheel was a major hit when Chuck left. It was the highest rated game show at that time and Chuck wanted money equal to that. He didn't get it and its why he left.

If I have to guess who George hugs first in the end, that's probably Beth Rowan Fiance, then the other woman he gives the handshake is probably the other contestant coordinator Laura Saroyan. I wonder which one is Richard Janaver because we get to see Jan Heininger, Gary Johnson, and Deb Dittman in the end?

20:45: Well we get to see the entire staff for the extended end credits. Jacqueline Frazier and Greg Murphy did a great job. And I noticed that some of the people in the extended end credits also worked on Sale of the Century too.

I noticed in Sale of the Century's finale, Electronic Graphics artist Steve Christopher italicized all the staff credits and the Videotaped at NBC Studios Burbank California graphic. There was always a huge gap between the unit manager credit and the NBC studios graphic. On Scrabble's finale, Electronic Graphic artists Jacqueline Frazier and Greg Murphy did something different and must have done it like Steve Christopher on Sale's finale. There was a huge gap between the production managers credit (Fran Calderone) and the ever constant Videotaped at NBC Studios Burbank California graphic. Only in Scrabble the Videotaped at NBC Studios graphic is always white.

Why was scrabble cancelled in 1990 if ratings were good?

NBC wanted to shake things up, so Scrabble was cancelled to make room for something new on March 23, 1990 after 1200 episodes.

daytime game shows were simply on the out in 1990, LMAD & to tell the truth also were cancelled with classic concentration gone the year after. KSEE didn't air scrabble during the early part of it's run.
