I'm guessing that you experimented with CuMai for a blade and couldn't get the Heat Treatment right for the edge without delaminating the Copper layers from the high Carbon steel core... so you decided to make a non-blade weapon instead, since you had already invested time into learning how to set the initial Copper-to-steel welds... and the obvious choice was a set of knuckle dusters, using the Copper and a steel that isn't suitable for a good blade.
