Something to keep in mind for anyone planning to mail these in the US... It takes more postage to mail a square envelope than a rectangular one (that is within the dimensions for first class mail). If someone is looking to buy cards for this project and a rectangular card suits them as well as a square one, they might want to go that direction. The post office usually has a stamp specially for square envelopes or one could just put two Forever stamps on it, which would be overpaying but it's convenient.

Love it! Great idea! I have used the brown packing paper from Amazon to make wrapping paper! Yes have used my sewing machine. I used metallic thread to make it really pop! Please do more videos with the cards❤❤😊😊

These are so lovely and charming. I used to make a lot of cards with stamps but now I sew instead. However, you have inspired me to make a few cards. I used to stitch a lot on my cards and never had a problem. I would love to see how you made the little (log cabin?) card and more scrappy card videos would be very welcome.
@ScrapFabricLove2 ай бұрын
The little log cabin was a paper pieced log cabin block. It was just leftover in my orphan block box!

Keep it simple and they spectacular. I use the photo cards and insert orphan blocks - your idea is so much easier❤

If you do not like the look of the stitching on the inside of the card you could cover it with plain paper. Thanks for the inspiration .
@ScrapFabricLove2 ай бұрын
I actually like seeing the stitching on the inside but yes you could absolutely cover it.

Hi Kristen. I wanted to share a podcast I thought you might enjoy. Quilter on Fire. Episode 177 interview of Radha Weaver. Discussion of sustainability in quilting, in particular with jeans. Ms Weaver spent several years working for Levi’s and was so interesting to listen to. Hope all is well

Nice cards. I have been making them for years for all occasions. My technique is to make the motif first like slow stitching, layers etc. then sew the finished item to the card. Last Christmas I had not made enough and a friend was disappointed and told me so when I sent her a commercial card.
@susanrascone20982 ай бұрын
I forgot to mention that I sew my motif onto a piece of batting so it it like a mini quilt that is then sewn to the card.

That's a cute idea. I do have one question - do you backstitch at the beginning and end like you with fabric seams?
@ScrapFabricLove2 ай бұрын
Yes I would. My Pfaff does that automatically when I start and stop but otherwise yes a little backstitch is a good idea.

Another great idea! Thank you. Can you tell me the name of the stamp set you are using? The link doesn't take me to it.
