Thank you for recording my pack yet again! The garage improves over time, hence why the lights went out on level 3 (they were being replaced). Not that noticeable at first but it should be really obvious when bigger changes start to happen. Good luck on the next levels, you'll need it ;)

1 question, why have the wheels need to be coloured white? couldunt you just have the switch being flipped a requierment for the goal to work? it would have still stopped cheaters and it would have removed the need to rememebr to colour the wheels.

Neat idea with the track switches. Reminds me of how some monorails do it, although tracks are usually shifted from side to side to switch instead of flipping over. I do like the flip better though, it is more compact. -AW

The wheels are white so if you block the gate you can't trigger the sensors yourself. I made the switches this way so there are no holes anywhere that could mess up your follower.

To adjust for the swinging you should put the sensors more forward on the vehicle (more distance from the wheels). It will cause it to turn less aggressively. You can notice this in the last challenge when it's going backwards because the backwards sensors are further from the wheels.

yeah i watched his first vid and got inspired, i spent like 20 hours optimizing my design. sensors as far forward as posible and i made it a 3 wheeled vehicle with caster in front

There should have been some "wheel validation" sensors at the start, it's way too easy to forget painting the wheels only to find out after you've done the whole course. Maybe the second gate could be limited to only open after white wheels have been detected.

It might seem more complicated, because you had to get a reverse steering working. I think you do good on these and should not give up ^^

I would have just flipped the wheels upside down. That might cause a steering issue, but can invert steering using logic too

Would be nice if they would implement layered logic levels. Like layers in Photoshop, you could create a layer and name and connect all of your logic blocks and that is all that would show up for that layer. Then you could create another layer and do the same, and that’s all that would show up, but yet you can toggle them all on and off to view them at any point.

I think you will have a lot more fun on these after you read about the behaviour of XOR gate with multiple inputs. It basically functions as a odd/even sensor. But the really interesting use case is when you can use the 3rd input to basically invert its behaviour. So you can just use your basic line follower design from the first challenge and use XOR gates behind the wheel engines, then if you add the sensor signal to these XOR gates, the XOR output will invert when the sensor is on.

all the gates with an N in front are just the opposite of their normal version. Like using the normal version and then putting it into a NOT. So NAND is AND into NOT, NOR is OR into NOT, XNOR is XOR into NOT.

I don't know if scrap mechanic has them, but XOR gates can function as controllable NOT gates, where if one input is true, then the output will be the inverse of the other input. If they exist in the game, they can make some logic much more compact.

I worked out that crazy birds nest of wiring. Can be done with a ball sensor, 2 line sensors, a inverter and 4 and gates.

I made a fully ai controlled tank that would shoot you in creative mode with logic from the intelligentia mod and cannons from the cannon pack along with a few other mods, and found that it made my brain want to explode but i felt like i grew a huge amout from it, some time i want to try to make an ai car that will follow you like a cop in bmg drive

it would be nice if scrap mechanic have a positive and a negative signal. this way you dont need 4 engines for 2 directions anymore. like in real life a controller can flip the signal from + - to - +. so basicly a logic gate that flips the input you put in, but not from on to off i mean from on + to on -. to reverse the engine with the same signal input

i assume the engines on the original vehicle turn on with the switch, and when the sensor does not detect black it turns the opposite engine off.

Let me see if I can figure out how the starter car worked. If we look at the right engine, it should go, if the left sensor senses nothing or the right sensor senses the line. And the left engine vice versa. I think that's right.

Scrapman just use the same exact vehicle no changes as that whole go forward with red ball is just something to confuse and stress you out so you have to think of a way to do it but your other vehicle works just fine
