Welcome to another episode of Trailmakers!Today we try a random experiment and see if we can successfully trail a kite behind a car! I got the idea after thinking about playing with trailer hinges for the first time to see if i could make a "rope" like material, and it totally works! What was your favorite part?

Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Try using a longer leash and putting the seat into the kite with a button to detach it!

Scrapman you should do this again but reverse it like your on the glider and a car pulls you and if they have it put a detachable block on the glider and see how long you can fly.

I love your videos! Also could you please make an episode of buildings in the FMB? I have seen some cool buildings like a reverse engineering facility on the workshop. Also maybe try building a floating but not hovering thing in trailmakers.

Awesome video! Maybe do a Multiplayer Monday with non-cannon battlebots, I flail would be cool to see in combat. Also couldn't you have just started at the end of the drag strip and moved towards the start to have avoided doing the race?

Try and angle the wings to be more v shaped! It may increase your stability in the air so it doesn't do its crazy feedback loop.

Two ideas for you, first remake the vehicle you have but put the chair on the kite part, and make a vtol using your hover glitch, and from what i have tested you can use the hover glitch with different orientations to prevent rotation on certain planes, kinda like the scrap suspension glitch.

Suggestion: A video involving testing aerodynamic vehicles versus light vehicles to see which one contributes more to speed. In real life mass seemingly doesn't matter (Please correct me if I am wrong) for speed as much as aerodynamics and thrust does. So if aerodynamics matters more, you may be able to create quite larger craft with heavier components, while still maintaining speed.

Okay, this can serve as a proof of concept, now you just need to turn this into an evolution race challenge. And I mean both the fly-a-kite, and the tail-whip car. And you could try having 3 tiny wheels (2 in the front), to reduce the drag of the kite, and maybe have the front wheels larger than the back wheel, to naturally tilt up while on the ground. And maybe also have more wings for the kite and add a few wheels for the ball joints / trailer hitches, or place some low-friction block underneath them. And maybe angled thrusters pushing you into the ground, too.

You could tie the kite to your tank. The tank should be(without the turret) heavy enough for the kite not to turn you. Also the length of your vehicle decides how much force the kite needs to turn you

Should've placed the trailer hitch in the middle of the kite, that's how real kites are set up. You're actually pulling it down the way you set it up.

You should’ve brought in Moonbo, ComodoGaming, or KanGaming at then tell them to get in a seat that is mounted inside a bigger and stronger kite, maybe four wings and the chain you ended with (The 4th set of wings would be to hold the seat)

Suggestion from the end of August 2020. It seems to me that if you don't have any long enough straightaways that you are surrounded by a whole bunch of water why not create the same thing as watercraft then you wouldn't have to worry about how long of a straight away you have only the walls of the world
