Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Terrain means ground so sea and air wouldn't count. Also, if all terrain then wall climbing is a requirement.

How about a challenge similar to an “egg drop” challenge? You compete to make contraptions that are designed to keep the driver safe as the machine falls to the ground. The vehicle cannot use thrusters or balloons to stay afloat, it can only use unconventional blocks like sails or pistons to slow or cushion the impact

Post-space idea: Star Wars dogfight. Pre-space idea: a Battlebots type fight. 250kg weight limit and melee only weapons. No block limit. Also, great video and designs.

That 'ghost block' glitch happened to me as well, it seems to just be some temporary memory saved to the wrong spot. Restarting the game removed it for me and all instances of it that had spawned.

You should do a race with someone with a plane in a plane in a plane and at certain times of the race you should detach 1 layer and go as a smaller plane and repeat until you finish the race

3:39 I noticed that mirror mode spawn these after Airborne update. Anoying but fixable by just restarting the game.

You can also just turn off mirror mode and it'll dissapear when you spawn it in I think. Unconfirmed tho

This was fun and made me think of a variant. Duel at ten paces. Player vehicles start back-to-back and go ten paces (however you want to define that) spin and fire a single shot.

Scrapman. If you're out of ideas for new Trailmakers challenges, how about something like this? 2 versus 2 in the air, where each team member makes half of the plane (left and right or front and back). Personally, I would like to see your functionality combined with Yzuei's form. Patches and JBRider may be on the opposite team. Or... create whatever teams you want.

Normally I would say that a self-takeout counts as a negative hit, but it's hard enough to get hits with these torpedoes as it is. Awesome builds, all the same... especially Yzuei's beast. I'm mystified by that spawn-block glitch in ScrapMan's build, though.

I still think making Panjandrums would have been awesome. Those are the closest thing to land torpedoes aside from Russia's current attempt (rig T-62's with explosives and a stuck accelerator and let them loose.)

You should do a hovercraft version of this on the dethrone island where the torpedoes are using hover pads and your vehicles are too. Or even a version where the torpedoes are programmed to act like mortars.

You couldn't get the 'ghost' block because it was on the other side of mirror mode. When in mirror mode, you can only edit on the side of your camera, you can't touch anything beyond the 'mirror'. You can move your camera to that side and then you would be able to edit it. You can also obviously disable mirror mode.

No, it's a thing that happens a lot, it appears even when you repair and just floats there and you can completely go through it, you cannot build anything to it or select it even on the right side of mirror mode the only way to fix it is by rejoining.

you both need to redo this challenge.. however, it would be nice to see how you both learn the turn radius of the torps. You got hit by a torpedo that yzuei made turn when he turned right while reversing. so the faster you reverse while turning... or the steeper of an angle you turn at makes the torpedo turn that much sharper at launch.. it will be super cool to see you both exploit that. thank you so much for the amazing videos scrapman.

it's not the 'turn radius of the torps' since they're meant to go straight. It's the amount of lead required.

i have a suggestion for a 4p relay style multiplayer match. two teams of two players each, the first players pilot land or air vehicles in a race from point a to point b, and then they launch "ground torpedo" or ski vehicles that have a seat for their team mate to pilot back to the start.
