I breakdown small appliances, kitchen gadgets and anything else I can find to recover scrap metal and precious metals. Garbage picking and treasure hunting are how I recover the majority of my inventory for scrapping, scrap metal, re-selling, rummage sale items, etc. When you depend on salvaging items from the trash or wild it's a bit of a gamble. Sometimes you find an item or two, sometimes you'll find multiple items but most of the time you just find trash. lol.

Lots of brass ! A lot of times that type of stuff is aluminum or die cast made to look like brass. The older fixtures were all brass.
