You have standard flat screens they have 1 main pcb board and the little ones, on a smart flat screen you get 2 large boards plus the little ones

Around @5:57 you talked of the flaps having gold. Is there a pin they stick into or is the flaps like a tape?

yes, on the circuit boards. They too are going to be gold plated pins.

Can I smelt the copper pieces with the plastic on? Will it burn off in a hand heating one or smelter furnace I wanna take apart my 65in tv

The plastic should burn off yes. However, be careful with smelting copper, some yards do not accept them because they question the purity of the material

there should be 2 boards. you showed the power board (low grade). what happened to the video controller (high grade)?

instead of unwinding the spools i stick a small phillips screwdriver through the center and just pull the wire

Another scrapper was saying if glass was not broken, you need to be careful of the mercury. Where is it on the tv?

Some LCD TVs have cfl bulbs for backlights. These would be behind the layers of the screen. They would look like thin tubes lined up. Some LCD TVs have LEDs instead, so no mercury there. There is also mercury in rear projection TVs in the bulb that lights the projector. This is really easy to avoid breaking.

someone on a silver forum said flat panel tv's have 2-3 ounces of silver, from this video it doesn't look like this is the case at all?

Nope, there are tiny buttons that have an extremely small amount of silver but not 2-3 ounces. However, there is some gold....but not that much either. If they did have that much silver, I would be rolling in silver as I have taken apart approx. 40 In about 3 yrs.

see ewasteben channel...computer keyboards have two pieces of plastic tracing with 999 silver...a Kilogram of those will render at least 3 oz of silver...

No silver, but gold on flatscreen board. There may be a crystal oscillator that has a little silver, but that is it.

@@michellemcmillan6149 I would say probably in the lightbulbs that run down the tv. I know the old TVs have lead in the glass, but I can assure you that there is no mercury on the circuit boards.

@@TinManScrapper I just got about 5 large led smart tvs a rental store threw away. Looking for gold, silver and whatever else. At the scrap yard in my town thetes no low or high grade. They just give you 6 cents a pound. Any hold I find wont be going there.
