The first two slot cards removed were the CPUs. Third card removed was a SCSI disk controller for the hard drive backplane.

Small system computer interface is not a disk controller it's io board connection input out put and many devices connect to it. One of the first standards
@BassistInATutu7 ай бұрын
@@empirefinds Actually that card was a SCSI dual channel disk controller with RAID so would be attached to the disk drives.

I can remember purchasing a couple of these in the mid 1990's. The hard drives would have been 9, 18, 36 gig. Back in the days, this was a $250k purchase from memory (along with a couple of A1000 storage arrays)

The face would make a wonderful display piece with the cpu and 1 stick of ram and the info plate from the back in a frame. Some photos of the whole thing could be included somewhere.

So look forward to seeing what you are up to brother I wish you had time to do one everyday. Ewaste refiners do not mention tin, copper, stainless but let me assure you at £20 a kilo for tin they make the money back on just that. The gold silver and( used a lot in the 80s) platinum is the bonus. They never loose even with a board totally depopulated the tin would pay the 50p a kilo the brought it for. Until the next episode brother stay safe

I live in a relatively small town in kansas (20,000 - 30,000) and I really really want to get into scrapping e-waste but I have absolutely no idea where to start, if you could give me any advice at all I would be so so grateful. Thanks!

You just scrapped a vintage computer worth $3000 today.
@joesmith-es1zy5 ай бұрын
If someone was actually going to pay that he would have sold it for that. Everybody thinks everything is worth money.
@MarcoGPUtuber5 ай бұрын
@@joesmith-es1zy People do pay for that. Huge numbers of collectors. Worth way more than the scrap money he's getting for it.
@joesmith-es1zy5 ай бұрын
I sincerely doubt that.
@MarcoGPUtuber5 ай бұрын
@@joesmith-es1zy You're free to doubt it all you want, but this is what the machines go for. Even if he or other people don't care about it, the value of the product together far outweighs its scrap value.
