If you guys have a catch basin that you can put underneath the material that you place in the incinerator, you could set the first burn at 1220.5 to catch and retrieve all the aluminum. Then set the next burn at 1763.2 to retrieve all the silver. And the last burn set the incinerator at 1984.3 for the copper.

Uh that silver makes me sick, I threw so much of that away not knowing what it was one time :( As for the pieces you have those are some good ones, even map gas will work to get them off but you have to cut the copper so you have the smallest amount of copper to work with. That way the heat will stay in the piece you have and melt the solder. If you leave the big ones connected copper works as a heat sink too well and you can't get it up to temp easily or at all. Your torch may have enough power though. Great setup on the transformers! Great video, good luck Scrapper!

Silver contacts will separate from the copper arms with map gas. You just gotta clip the copper shorter. Heat spreads throughout the copper. The larger the material the harder to remove the contacts!
@ProjectShopFl5 күн бұрын
Thanks I will try now I cut all the copper short.

Hi, I see that you put the transformers too tight in your clamp, if you loosen them a little (a few millimeters) then your cutting blade from the press will go through it more easily, and the sides of the clamp will not press outward. the welds stays intact. try it. greetings
@ProjectShopFl5 күн бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion but I originally had a non adjustable jig and if you don't squeeze them parts will fly out.

Are you able to sell cardboard in your area? I know if you come across a lot of cardboard in my area, you can sell it for pennies per pound. Cardboard with tape on it can be sold as cellulose for a penny a pound. It would only be worth it if you come across it by the ton.
@ProjectShopFl5 күн бұрын
I use to get .10 per lb then it went down then they would only take it for free.

why don't you reinforce your plate once and for all? so that way you don' t have to be welding every time? or have someone to custom make a thicker inch plate???? that is just my suggestion

Thanks for the suggestion, I will be making a hole new plate soon.
