I have the same issue with my bits and bobs getting snagged. I ended mine last August bc it got so heavy for me to knit on. It was making my hands hurt. After I bound off, I discovered it was way way too wide. So now the width is the length. So if I make another one I will go down a needle size and cast on fewer stitches.

Love all of your podcasts, they seem very organized and flow very well. You have inspired me to knits sock and I am now on my third pair. Question for you: at what point do YOU place your progress keepers? Every 10, 20 rows etc? I notice you have them placed every so often. Keep up the great podcasts.
@CrazySockLady4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I place them every 10 rounds.
@annettemartig17544 жыл бұрын
Your Corner to Corner is coming along so beautifully! I may have to start a crochet project soon! How short is too short for your scraps to be included in a magic ball? Are you using the ends that were cut off from your scrappy sock ends? I so hope your air conditioner is up an functioning today. It's cold and blustery here in MN, but that can change quickly. Although when heat settles in here, we get the humidity.
@CrazySockLady4 жыл бұрын
It was fixed yesterday, thankfully! I think as long as you can tie the knots needed it’s enough. I do not use the ends that I cut off after weaving in the ends on things. But if they are longer ends you certainly could!

I love all of your scrappy projects. I participated in the DVD monthly sock along last year and am trying to decide on a scrappy project for all of my leftovers. Other than socks have you made any scrappy projects using self stripping yarn?

This video was fun to watch. I love needlepoint, crochet and only learned to knit in June (crochet is faster for me since I've been doing it over 40 years). For your scrappy projects, do you maintain the same yarn weight? I work with different wool weights such as DK, Worsted, Fingering and 100% cotton mercerized. Not sure I'll ever have a huge amount of any one type so does this mean I'll never be able to do a scrappy project :-(
@CrazySockLady4 жыл бұрын
Scrappy projects to me are definitely long term projects, meant to be added to over time as you have scraps available. I don’t mix weights within a project.
@elizabeth19273 жыл бұрын
Hi! I was wondering how long of a cord you used for the needle of the Bits & Bobs blanket? Thanks sm!
@fluffycloud63464 жыл бұрын
Hi, love your scrappy projects. Are you using two strands of fingering weight yarn for your c2c as well.

Nope, it’s just 1 strand of fingering.

Enjoy your podcast and videos. I am new to scrappy projects. Do you have any particular technique for weaving in the ends as you go for these projects? Thank you.
@CrazySockLady4 жыл бұрын
I do a magic knot on all of my blankets to connect the ends. With that there aren’t any ends to weave in. The video for a tutorial for that is linked below the video. If it’s a project that I don’t use a magic knot I just weave in as normal. ❤️
