Paul Mojecki yes, I am aware this is a cartoon and not real life. Also I would argue that the point of the video is how many times it would have died in real life because in a cartoon it could survive anything as we see in the film, so seeing how many times it would die according to cartoon physics is a waste of time because it would be 0. Also a squirrel doesn’t actually fall that fast, I think it’s only 20-30 mph and it would have pretty good odds of surviving that fall imo. Smaller animals are much better at surviving falls than larger animals, and a squirrel is smaller than a cat which means it’s not out the question scrat survives

You missed some. At terminal velocity, the supersonic ram pressure would shear his limbs off and he'd bleed out before he hit the ground. As inconvenient as it can be, air does in fact have mass, and breaking the sound barrier is no trivial task.

4:29 I'm confused. Wouldn't it actually be less force onto scrat? Since each animal is increasingly bigger, they each FIRST hit the ice surrounding the hole that the previous animal made, thus it is the ice that is absorbing/buffering some of that force, especially for Manny since he is so much bigger than any of them. Actually it’s perfectly reasonable that a saber tooth squirrel would have survived all of what Scrat had gone through. They were nearly invincible, and only ever had one weakness, which eventually caused them to go extinct, they were terrible at collecting nuts and they all starved to death. There were never really a lot of acorn trees in the ice age.
