It is common knowledge that the BBC Micro:bit controller board is ideal for primary education students.
MIT's Scratch, is the famous and now de-facto standard tile-graphics-based programming environment, which you can find online at [scratch.mit.edu] webpage, or you can download it and use it offline.
Scratch team realized the practicality of Micro:bit years ago and added support for the board in Scratch.
There is basic support for using the board's 5x5 LED matrix display (showing individual icons or letters or phrases of letters or single-digit or multi-digit numerals). But there is NO support for individually addressing the 25 pixels of the display. Or this is what we thought to be the case up to now. We tested a built-in command function in a way that no one showed us before.
In this video I will first show you this functionality and then I will demonstrate two new command blocks (two procedures) programmatically used to turn ON or OFF each of these 25 LEDs.
