another simple and clearly explained tutorial from one of my favourite "Märklinists" :) :) Great Job !!! By the way, every time you say "Nice" in your video, for some reason your voice reminds me of the movie character Borat (and I do mean that in a positive way, you make me smile !!). Keep up the good work

A very nice video tutorial on fence making in HO scale. I also use a lot of beer cans cut apart for my metal pieces. I'm presently working on a water tower to use in O scale to service the tender. I used 3 packing tape centers approx. 3 1/2 to 4 inches in diameter and glued them together. After painting them brown I cut some thin strips of beer can to use as three bands around the perimeter of the water tower. I made a platform out of trimmed popcycle sticks (cut the round part off) with some diagonal bracing using florist sticks painted grey and dry brushed with brown. The legs of the platform I made out of some round wooden dowels. So far it looks very good. I'm gonna roll up some of the beer can and use some quick set glue to make a spout. I like your hinges and that gave me the idea to use that procedure to make a hinge for the spout. Now I've got to get some chain to add to the spout.

Been modeling for many years and it's been a while since my HO scale days. Those hinges blew me away, very impressive. I guess the longer you do it, the less you like "Pre-Packaged" items and learn to engineer amazing things. That was impressive... now I know I am not the only detail oriented modeling fanatic.

I model in N scale. For very small dimensions balsa is too soft. I use basswood for added strength. Basswood also helps with washes for weathering. Strong and no warping. Cheers.

Good video as always! I spy a Volvo Amazone...+++! I'd be careful about using steel wool anywhere near a model railroad...the minuscule metal particles can get sucked into any magnetic mechanisms (Lokos, Signals Mag couplers etc.), and will wreck havoc in any of them...I recommend instead using non-magnetic scotchbrite scrubbing pads with the same result. The micro hinges were super...I'm going to have to try some of that (but no cigarettes or caffeine before!)...Skol from Connecticut!

Very, very creative. The only question I have is using all acretic and water does it cause the balsa to warp? Thank you
@marklinofsweden7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for commenting Ralph! 👍😊 Well.. If you put all the wet balsa sticks on a piece of plywood, they will all stick to the plywood and dry in a straight shape. If you let them dry in a pile I would guess it will all be a mess...

@marklinofsweden5 жыл бұрын
Hi! I understand this difficulty. There are conversion tools on Google. Just search and you’ll find it. I also notice that US has turned over to the metric system since many years. So from what I heard you’re getting metric inch by inch.. ;)
