I´m scratch building a wooden cargo terminal. The video is a detailed guide to scratch building in wood, painting, weathering and implementation into an excisting scenery.
I made this video hoping to inspire you to get started on scratch building in wood by showing how easy it actually is and what materials and techniques I use.
A video like this takes about 40 hours to make. Please think of each new video as a magazine subscription and support the channel to help me, helping you & reaching out to new people, so they also can discover the world of miniature modeling!

Hello, another great scratch build. The one thing that I was amazed with was, the making of the "glue" mould for the tile roof. I have never seen that done. So, as always I have learnt something new. Thanks again. See ya next time.

Great, admirable result! So much relaxing to watch. I wish you made a demo of the lamp at dusk - it was my favorite piece of this model. I was actually very surprised you didn't use the typical Swedish faluröd color with white framings ;)

Hi Great Video What Scale and size of your Building Materials for your Textured wall slats from Northeastern Lumber Co for 1:87 Ho Scale Clapboard Siding? What size Clapboard Siding Materials did you use? Such as 3/16" Clapboard, 3/8 clapboard or etc.? Basically I'm just trying to order the same materials. Any reply would be most appreciated.

Sehr gute Arbeit.

Hi Mark, One question regarding your technique using glue mould for the roof tiles, would the relief not be 'reversed'? I was thinking about adopting a similar approach for brick walls but assumed this would not work as the mortar joints would stick out rather than recess in?

again a very good video! Very professional! Having said that, and this is meant to be friendly advise, maybe you can change the music at the beginning of your video to a more professional sounding tune, to match the quality of the tutorials. I find it sounds "cheap" and "nervous" Maybe one of your viewers can compose a good, custom, theme tune for you? Either way, keep the videos coming, I really enjoy them and they are an inspiration for me!

Hi! Thank you for the feedback! You’re right! I created this intro 10 years ago with the intention to make fast moving tutorials in 3-5 minute style. Straight to the point. No fiddling around. It turned out that the KZbin audience wants preferrably endless tutorials with lot of fiddling around, rather than just learning the methods and materials, so the intro is somewhat misplaced 2019. I’ll make a re-work. Again.. Thank you for excellent feedback!

Martin, I adore your idea of using store bought molded styrene as a mold itself for a PVA casting. Helt lysande. My great-grandparents were from Tol'anga. So that and Mongatack are the limit of my Swedish. Now a comment. Your use of White paint inside the mounted lamp is OK, however, here in the U.S. & Canada we have a plastic based paint called PLASTI DIP. Copy cats from other major paint producer are also made. This material is quite brushable and when it drys it is a permanent bonding insulator. For all of your videos we ex-patriots say MONGATACK, Jim

Hello...! (So to speak...) Tjena från Danmark! First of all, thank you for all the great videos. It's fantastic to see how you often take the economy approach to building model rails. For people like me who are just happy amateurs, building on a budget is essential! A funny and nerdy question: Could you perhaps do a video / tutorial on which tools you use, and how to make them, if possible? (Loved your Styrofoam cutter video... You WILL need a styrofoam cutter!!) Keep up the good work! (And get mobile-pay, so I can make a donation!)

there's a lot of interesting techniques in this build, and the result is good. but it could be massively better imo. would a building of that size have all its planks running the full length ?? i'm thinking not. a couple of loosening plank ends, and replaced or repaired sections would improve what is a rather bland panel texture

I appreciate your tutorial. I've thought about crafting things with wood, but never had much confidence in my abilities. I feel quite inspired, and when I start working on my model train layout again, I'll probably build the mining structures this way. By the way, with the orange roof, the shed reminds me of the Howard Johnson hotels and restaurants that used to be all over the United States (sadly they are almost all gone now and the company I think has one or two locations left).

Hey, that's a great idea of making a mock up first. I do a lot of scratch building myself. I make my own windows since my scale is just a little larger than HO scale. I scratch build for O scale--have to use a larger scale 'cause I'm so clumsy. O scale is a little more forgiving. Great tutorial.

Do you not have any problem with the wood warping when using alcohol thinned paint? I ask because many modelers say they do and use lots of bracing inside buildings or paint both sides at the time to prevent warping.

Great tutorial. I love to scratch build, but my techniques are a little different as I "invent" the process as I go (on the fly). I do admire your ability to make it look real, especially by adding the light fixture and adding an LED to light it up. I probably would only have lit the interior instead of the exterior.
