Scratch Built Droid and Collab With Toy Photographer KILLCUTTER

I was able to connect with Killcutter, a toy photographer, and discuss how we could do a scratch build/Toy photography collaboration. The thought was I would do a scratch built droid and he would incorporate my droid into one of his photo shoots. He enjoys shooting the Star Wars Black series figures so I thought building a companion droid would be cool. Ends up he had a Greedo figure he hadn't shoot yet so that worked out great. I made this little hover droid as Greedo's sidekick, shipped it out to Killcutter and he did his magic on the photography side!

Nice! A little tip to up your sanding game: get some beltsander loops in different grit (they have some kind of textile backing and are much more durable than regular sanding paper) and cut them in half. Find some straight MDF or particleboard pieces and glue the strips to the board with PVA. Make sure you clamp the sandpaper down with another piece of board to get it really flat. Voila - you´ve made yourself some very versatile sanding boards that you can use to straighten out those wonky Dremel edges. Just clamp them to your workbench or put them in a vise and sand like a champ! I like to use MDF pieces that were cut to the exact width of the belt, that way they can be used like a file too.

I just started scratch building and came across your channel and I just have to say, not only are you great at building but also your personality is so infectious and fun to watch! Also I appreciate you pointing out the hardest part of the process with overthinking where to put stuff because I struggle with that too, so it's encouraging to know it's not just me lol. Where do you get those plastic sheets at? Looks like they are very handy to have for anything requiring structural strength! I really like what you are able to come up with using mostly "junk" :)

I got mine at Hobby Lobby near the model paints. You can normally find a better selection at a Hobby Store but the one in my town sadly went out of business.
