Hi Huskyfluffy, The scratch finish is applied by hand. You apply a uniform finish to your piece first (maybe even polish it), then you follow the steps in the video to apply a scratch finish by hand. Thank you for your ongoing support! : )

You need to file and sand an uneven surface to flatten it. 😀
