Fun fact: The first mask was the *KNB* mask. It was seen in the opening scene and the Principal's office. It was used because they didn't have the _licensing_ to use the regular mask in the early scenes. You can see the difference in the _narrower_ eyes and wider "cheeks," in the mask.

I bought the original Fantastic Faces Ghostface and Reaper mask in Walmart when I was a kid before the movie was a thing for $4.99, and I've had it ever since.

I had a gen 1 tagged mask I got at the flea market for 5 bucks. It was in great condition. My cousin pointed out a small spot on the mask that looked like a hair or something cast in the rubber. We had an idea to use toenail clippers to try to remove it and we ended up ruining it

There’s no definitive way to tell what year, but the earliest masks are thick vinyl with large paint, and the mid-90s copies are a bit thinner with tighter paint on the nose, eyes, and mouth.

Wait so they recasted and reshouted the white one that was found by Madeline and used it in the movie then knb did another one with a grey shroud? So 2 different ones were used in Casey’s scene? Then they got the rights to use the fun world one and then used that one. So a total of 3? One knb with grey, the almost identical one from the how recasted and reshrouded and then the one they use for all the other scenes?

Its believed the "sidney attack" mask was a small dot, and the garage mask a second dimple. Splotch also is believed to be used in the casey becker scenes. But no one really knows for sure...

The found in the house was not white it was black. And it is in the still screaming documentary they show a photo of the bedroom with the black shroud mask on the bed post, they okayed around with the idea of using the white but thought better obviously.

Always preferred the KNB mask in the opening scene and the Principal scenes more than the FunWorld mask used in all the movies as the feature mask. The KNB is just more ghostly and eerie.

You know, I love Scream, but there's this thing that I don't get with collectors. Why spend big on a mask that looks like the same one at Dollar General? I get it if it's a different color or screen used, but otherwise I'd just go store-bought. More authentic to the film's plot. "They sell this costume at every five-and-dime in the state."
