I legit jumped out of my seat in the theater watching this scene. Made me truly appreciate Judy and what Shelton brings to the role. I love too how this new Scream really showed the impact and brutality of Ghostface's knife. Sure, it would have been nice to have a creative death on par with the garage scene in the first, but they did each kill well in terms of actually caring about the characters and feeling horrible to watch them die so brutally, which is the best thing a slasher movie can achieve. Gotta love the far away shot too; the juxtaposition of this quiet, sunny suburban day while a legacy character is being murdered horrifically out in the open

Cops aren't very bright in the Scream universe, Dewey was always getting knocked out, the 2 cops in scream 4 were taken out because they were dicking around etc. I think they're just continuing that trope.

One of my favourite scenes in the movie, Marley absolutely KILLED IT with her acting 🔥🔥🔥 Just wish she had more scenes, especially another one with Wes because I feel like any questions I had about her character after Scream 4 made complete sense after this one. Also wish they’d have left the scene of her and Dewey at the Sheriff’s station in the final cut of the movie - it really added another layer to their relationship and to how much she looked up to him!

I think sometimes people don't understand how talented Roger Jackson is and how much work he has to put in. He is definitely the most versatile actor in all of these movies considering the fact that he has to think like and become the character who is using his voice every time, during every phone call, in all 6 of these movies (at the time of this comment). Just look at this video, for example. He has to make his character sound like and pretend to be an immature, teenaged girl in high school, being disrespectful to an adult authority figure. And he nails the job convincingly, to the point of it being perfect!

THANK YOU! Finally someone giving Roger L Jackson the credit he deserves. Like you said, yeah he's very versatile as each character has different ways of talking on the phone, he's gotta constantly adjust to that character's attitude and how they would speak, even though some people would say they all sound the same over the phone. I absolutely love that he is able to adjust the attitude depending on who's supposed to be on the phone. He's done it flawlessly for all 6 movies. It's insane, seriously, he's got to remember what characters know what, and how they speak, now yeah I obviously know he's reading from a script, but reading from a script and acting itself are different. His moments are some of my favourites especially on rewatches, as I start to join the dots up and notice the subtle clues the movies try to tell us. Not gonna lie, I thought this was Ritchie because of the couple little laughs he does and the fact that this caller sounds like they enjoying tormenting people, also when he's revealed he does another little laugh similar to this. Also, one little tiny thing, the number comes up as an *Unknown caller* and because Judy is the town's sheriff, I feel like she would have Amber's number especially since Amber is a friend of Wes'. Could easily be wrong though.

1:42, Marley Shelton did amazing acting in this scene. A great part about Scream 5 that Scream 3/4 didn’t do was taking the deaths seriously. Instead of someone joking about Bruce Willis they have a mother begging for her sons life. It makes it feel less Scary Movie. Can’t wait for Scream 6.

Judy's taste in movies works as she's seen enough horrors on the police force not to mention Jill and Charlie's Ghostface murder spree so she doesn't feel the need to watch more on screen. After all, some hate horror movies period due to traumatic childhoods. This is one of those kills most think should have went differently but it went perfectly. Tatum was half wasted when Billy came to kill her and in that situation, you'd usually go into survival mode, and even if, most people will not kill or do it so easily if they have a chance. The only hitch is no garage door can lift a human sans small children. Randy was out in the open in broad daylight in a public place with very few hiding spots. He thought he was safe and he was on a mission trying to track Ghostface. Sarah was in a large and empty studio building which presented ample hiding places and the police would have needed time to get there and find the exact building. Security had a better shot at getting to her faster. Rebecca's situation was similar. A dark and deserted parking garage with ample hiding places and Ghostface could always break the window open and kill her if it came to it. As for this kill, she is the sheriff and normally is on guard hence why a straightforward murder would not be successful. That meant Ghostface had to get her in a panicked mindset to kill her and that meant even if she had a weapon in the car, Judy may have forgotten about it in the panicked rush. After all, being on guard at all times will eat at you and destroy you. As for daylight, you have murders that happened and will happen during daytime as there are very isolated and empty neighborhoods during the day and even with the law enforcement on the way, it was going to take time for them to get there and Ghostface was adapting by being quick.

Also, you hit it on the nose why Judy didn't have her gun. He toyed with her emotions threatening her own flesh and blood. Her motherly instincts kicked in and she lost all rational. Plus she was only getting food. You don't need weapons for that and place it in the wrong place gives the Ghostface ammunition. Paranoia is a killer and some won't last in the Scream universe due to it.

5 and 4 are both great that scene when Sidney just sees the killer through the window and that music plays just still sends chills to the spine.....even the fifth one when the killer just says HELLLLLLOOOOOOOO SIDNEYYYYYYYYY I'm excited for 6 I hope it's the last!!!!!! Its nice to know gales coming back and Kirby!!!!!

One thing unrealistic is that ghostface would of got caught instantly in that suburban neighborhood lol especially in mid day☠️ “dad why is that person hiding on our neighbors porch with a costume on?” If anything there be cameras 🤣

I haven’t seen the movie or other clips yet, but this one definitely wasn’t thought out in my opinion 😂 like how does ghost face even get away in a neighborhood like that especially when the sheriff said “all units to my house” he most definitely would of been outed by somebody while trying to escape the scene.

Because of her death, Gale came back to woodsboro. So yes her character was a good one and I wanted her to live even after all of that because she survived one movie, but we needed this kind of impact so the original trio would know this is not just new people dying because of ghostface.

Well, the second and third films didn’t take place in Woodsboro. The second movie took place in college while the third took place in Hollywood. So before the fourth film, no one would think murders would happen in town again.
