I mean, there could be a chance you're right or there could be a chance that you're wrong and I'm right. Gale is no angel and has shown in the prior movies that she can be nasty to people she just met (for example, Debbie Salt in Scream 2). And Jennifer could have just started insulting her here because of Gale's initial insult here. Let's not forget in the beginning of this video before Gale's insult Jennifer was not hostile. And Gale could have not returned her calls just because she was playing a character in movies about her life and she didn't want to give her tips on how to play her in a movie, and for no other reason. It could not be personal. I think if there was a back story like you're claiming there was, it would have definitely been explained in the movie somewhere, which it wasn't, which is why I think that there is no reason for Gale to be nasty to her besides the fact that she is just an unfriendly person in general.

She said that in response to her camera man calling her unorthodox method of trying to interview Sydney "cold". Even later in this movie when Dewey is having a conversation with Jennifer about Gale he says how she is "selfish" and "cares about success so much that she doesn't care about who she's hurting to get it." Sounds like a self-centered person to me! A self-centered person would also do what she did in this video, which is totally dismiss someone who is a fan of hers trying to be friendly to her. What's funny is it didn't even cross my mind what you said about there possibly being a back story until you said it. What I have been saying about her being unfriendly sounds more up her alley.

Sidney asked her what was the status of the book and Gale, without thinking about her feelings, said it would be out later that year. Despite it being a sensitive topic for Sidney, she was being completely inconsiderate about Sidney's feelings and even taunted her afterward saying she'll send her a copy after Sidney sarcastically said she'll look for the book when it comes out, which prompted Sidney to punch her in the face like she deserved because she crossed the line twice. Knowing all these facts and negative qualities about Gale I shared with you is why I didn't even consider Gale having a rhyme or reason behind her being dismissive to Jennifer. I just automatically assumed the worst and assumed that she was just thinking about herself and no one else.
