Scream 6 was definitely the most intense and scary of all the movies to me. Ghostface in this movie was just unrelenting. The apartment/ladder scene was actually insane to watch in theaters the crowd was going wild. Also everyone was cheering when Chad was revealed to be alive haha!

While it may seem too unrealistic for some characters to have survived their wounds, the truth is, reality truly can be stranger than fiction. Take for example Alison Botha from South Africa: In 1994 she was kidnapped, intimately assaulted by two devil worshipers who attempted choking her to death but failed. So they stabbed her 30+ times in the abdomen, 20+ times in the neck. Thinking she was dead, they left. But, when she was sure they were gone she struggled to her feet, finding herself in the middle of nowhere. She held her guts in and started walking. That was, until... she lost her vision because her nearly-decapitated head started slipping off her shoulders, so she had to wrap a shirt around her stomach to hold her intestines inside so that she could hold her head in place on her neck and shoulders. She finally made it to the middle of a highway, where she collapsed, and a car full of good and decent graduate students pals pulled over. Luckily for Alison, one of them was studying veterinarian medicine. He used what he knew to help her until an ambulance could arrive. While she may be a Homo Sapien rather than some parakeet, his veterinarian knowledge and his actions are credited with saving her life.

Being unrealistic isn't the problem, the issue is that this is a slasher with really intense scenes that have no consequences or pay off. How is anyone supposed to enjoy a killer who is not capable of actually killing anyone?

Two fun facts: Red Right Hand (the ending song here was also played in Scream 1) and if you notice carefully in the movie theater's marquee in Scream 6, you see Jennifer Jolie's name (Parker Posey's character in Scream 3) quickly appear. Jennifer Jolie is hinted to have potentially survived her stab wounds, so who knows, maybe we will see her appear in Scream 7 alongside Sydney, Gale, and Kirby.

I LOVE this movie. It’s one of my favorites in the franchise and I love them all. I’ve seen/heard plenty of gripes with it, some totally valid, others that really aren’t. (I kinda loved how no one who came back died. I really didn’t want to part with any of them. And it was genuinely a twist that I did NOT see coming. Would I want every Scream film to let all of the main cast survive? Hell no. Am I cool with them doing it this once? Yep!) This whole film is just soooo much fun with so many cool scenes and chases. Which is what I love! I’m so glad that you enjoyed a bunch too!!

I completely agree with that. I love the characters of Sam and Tara, and hate she was axed from the new one. I'm glad her onscreen sister supported her by quitting too, but even with Neve back i don't hold out much hope i will enjoy it much at this moment.

I just realized something: Detective Bailey's reaction to Quinn's "death" was VERY unusual. Most people who lose a loved one that way would be blaming the survivors or at least very angry at them for not preventing it (especially as there were 5 of them counting Anika and only 1 gf) yet he continued to pretend to be helpful

We have the same list! I’d probably put Scream 2 at #2 and Scream 4 at #3. Cuz you get a little bit of Randy doing his great bits, especially in his convo with Dewey. Although Sidney being a target feels a little forced in all of the sequels, her still dealing with trust issues is reasonable. Also the intro to Scream 2 is killer!

I gotta disagree with you, sweetheart, regarding the romance between Tara and Chad. Shared trauma does cause unexpected romances. Also, who's to say Chad hasn't had a thing for Tara for a little while now. And then, after Frankie tried dragging Tara upstairs after causing her to fall on the steps, perhaps Tara saw Chad in different light when he stood up to Frankie and was about fight him over how he mishandled Tara. Sometimes, even in real life, there aren't signs between two friends that all of a sudden find themselves falling for one another.

TBH I really believe if they stick with the original ideia of Sam´s trilogy I think Tara and Chad would die in the next movie. I dont think they'd kill Mindy because they'll need someone from the friend group to survive but I like if they did that. Unfortunately we'll never see that i hate it here

My rankings are very similar, but with 6 above 4 I was iffy on Sam after 5, but was fully on board with her in 6. When she peels down to her tanktop for murder time, I was in love 😍 and when she started handing out bricks when they had no other weapons she became an all time final girl for me 🤩. I think Mel just needed to settle into the character, which is why I'm extra salty that they fired her 🤬 I hope someone can organize a Core 4 (or +Kirby for Five Alive) movie spin-off, since we are indeed in a franchise now.
