You’re right so many avenues to take with Scream. Ghostface being kinda the Batman (maybe a better example out there lol) of the horror genre it’s cool cause all these other icons are practically set in stone due to the supernatural they were the only chosen entity for the role, but Ghostface being human and Scream being based in a level of “reality” anyone can take their story and be Ghostface. And arguably, there will always be someone around in that universe who takes it upon themselves to keep Ghostface alive it’s awesome.

Years ago, there was a movie where during the ending montage, there was an advertisement for Scream 8. I remember thinking that it was done with the third one, and it would never get up to 8. I am actually quite happy to have been wrong about that.

I think what makes sense for Stu to come back as the killer for seven is the sense the reasoning, and the meaning behind him coming back it was because he was distraught agitated and flustered and that’s why he became an mask murderer because someone made him upset

Considering Williamson had originally planned to bring Stu back in Scream 3 before unforseen circumstances......I'm trying to not get my hopes up and I realize Kevin isn't penning the film, but I can totally see Stu coming back now (or in the future) more then ever.

I personally gave up after Scream 5. To me that was the point when the series went off the rails and I really really don't feel like getting back on the train. I'm done. There's a lot I could say, but the moment that stands out, that turned me off that franchise, was the way they got rid of Dewey - such a pivotal legacy character. There's no way a tiny girl was able to manhandle Dewey the way she did in the hospital. That was the dealbreaker for me.

It's not because we think Stu is dead. It's that we think the current writers are not good enough to pull it off. After that Scream 6 "if you believe he is dead" line, we know for sure Stu isn't in jail. If he was, Kirby as an FBI agent would know about it and also it would have been all over the news. There would have been a trial and everything. The only possible way for this to happen is Stu's family faking his death. And I don't think the current writers can write this plot line well enough. Only Kevin could because Kevin thinks about the details and what's below the surface. The current writers leave lots of plot holes behind and write superficially.

Dewey isn’t coming back. He was in a body bag. Stu on the other hand is possible because you can survive a TV falling on your head. It’s happened to people in real life. He was originally suppose to be the killer of Scream 3. That’s why people want justice. He would the first ever returning killer.

People have said the Friday the 13th series was the same film over and over, but at least all but one to two characters were completely different in each movie. Scream literally recycles the same characters doing the same thing in every movie. They should have stopped at 3. I don’t mean to be negative. I’m just tired of the repetitiveness of the series. It needs to let the past go and start fresh with only the killer assuming the same MO. No Sidney, no Gail, no Stu, nobody we know.

@@cosmicurgency I think it would be the perfect way to bring him back in 7+ if they don’t bring them back in seven or any of the other screen movies only until put them back in something way more earlier than I would think that that would be a waste of time, but I think that they are going to bring him back in seven and it makes sense like I’m perfectly OK with him coming back as the murderer ghostface in seven as long as it makes sense

@ yeah I agree Lee like I think it’s because they think that one character is going to ruin the franchise which it does it the only way to ruin a franchise if you had bad writing or too many characters or writers doing some other stuff to make the characters feel too insufferable to even watch that is ruining a franchise not based off of one character I think having him coming back would be the perfect way to bring the franchise back to what it used to be dark super gory and scary and dramatic and a murder mystery type of movie. That’s what this franchise is missing and I think he’s going to bring it back altogether like do you want to see another Ghostface have no connection against Sid speak out random dialogue that does make sense to her story whatsoever I think having Stu coming back would be way more better than having some random ghostface Go after Sid

@ yes I agree with that as long as nobody does anything stupid I do think that what does the news that he is going to be in the movie? I think they could have a solid plan. I think the reason why everybody wants Stu to come back it’s because we were all promised and very great trilogy and we were promised of something scary and darker and glory and we’re promised something cool what’s going to happen with part three and it never did so that’s why bringing Stu back is so important to us as the fans because you promised us he was going to come back, but then he didn’t due to actual controversy because if you would’ve brought him back by adding up the story with his controversy, they would worrythey would’ve gone cancel in seconds, which is understandable. I think it would be cool if they could just bring him back in a great way by having him explain to himself.
