I can't wait till you do your Scream VI review. I think it's gonna end up being the most divisive film of the franchise when its all said and done. I also think Dermott Mulroneys performance is gonna be a hotly debated topic among Scream fans for a very long time. But as far as Scream 4 I always loved it and thought it was way ahead of its time. It's not perfect, it's still way better than Scream 3 and honestly it still may be better than Scream 5 and Scream VI is up for debate but I haven't fully ranked that one yet. What truly upsets me is Kevin Williamsons original trilogy idea of Scream 5 through 7 never got made and it's extremely disappointing and upsetting because I'm not the biggest fan of Radio Silences writing for these past two films to an extent but mainly their third acts and reveals have been a mess and among the worst for me. Also they have yet to do anything significant with Gale. Kevin Willamsons dialogue has always been extremely sharp, witty, fun and crisp as well as articulate and knowledgeable and everytime it's a different writer it just doesn't have the same type of magic you find in Kevin's writing for these particular films.

FINALLY another person who gets it! It seems like I'm stuck hearing everyone constantly dump on Scream 4 all the time, and i always have trouble putting together the words to describe how incredible and ahead of its time Scream 4 was. The writing and execution of this chapter in the Scream franchise is actually quite masterful and a bit poetic. After the original, it'll always be the best of the franchise. Thanks for putting together those words for me, I'll point people here whenever I catch someone trying to talk smack about Scream 4 😂

Scream 4 is one of my favorite sequels. I thought the series was going to be put to rest after Scream 3, which will be released on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on October 3rd. But since Scream 4 came to fruition, my buddy and I went to the movies to see it and we LOVED it. Especially the epic 2v1 fight (Sidney and Gale vs. Jill). We couldn't believe that Jill (Emma Roberts from Nickelodeon's "Unfabulous") was one of the two Ghostface killers, with the other being Charlie Walker (Rory Culkin). My favorite quotes in the movie are: "Who are you? Michael Freaking Myers?" "Don't FOOL with the originals!" I hope this film gets a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray sometime next year.

When I first saw Scream 4 back in 2011, I thought Jill’s motive was crazy but smart well here we are today living in her world which is one of the many reasons why she’s still my favorite Ghostface killer. Another reason why I love her is because she manipulated Charlie in doing all of her dirty work and only killed the ppl she was framing as the killers (Trevor and Charlie) to mimic Sidney during the original Woodsboro murders

When I’d got the chance to watch scream 4 in 2011 it was such an exhilarating ride of knowing Jill motivations/ true intentions because she’s an fan of the original scream films. we ultimately get sucked into her world finding out she only wanted to kill people in order to frame the victims Trevor, Charlie & only to behest of mimicking Sidney in the process. Sidney only to have the purpose state of clarity been going through it all from the Woodsboro murders and her past Tryna bury it all behind her. Dewey & Gale relationship was hitting a rocky road weren’t always on the same page. Just seems they were going in different directions. Kirby as one of the new cast added another sassy, humorous, charismatic charm to Scream 4. This has been a fun series to learn about the making of the Scream films Kylie.

38:25 based on the conversation Kirby was having with Jill earlier in the film, I do believe Kirby has a thing for Charlie. Plus they already share a common interest in horror movies, she's a supporter of his Cinemaclub, she shows up to the Stabathon, compliments him on the party, makes the first move, and risks her safety to save Charlie even when Sidney said to not let him in if you can't trust him. I'm pretty sure she had at least something for him, I wouldn't say it was just the alcohol.

Also, to answer your question at 36:53 EMT's, coroners, the press, teachers, doctors, and priests to name a few. And yes! Wes Craven based the stab to the head kill on a real incident. I think it's your best Scream for dummies so far. And I'm glad you left the crying scene in. That was so touching! Vulnerability is strength :) The only scene that really got under my skin in Scream 4 in a bad way was when Jill snuck out of her room after her bloody tandrum scene I know the movie is fake obviously but it bugged me because I tried to sneak out of my hospital room as a teen (when I got diagnosed with diabetes) and nurse Daisy stopped me! There are always nurses on duty which makes exploring a hospital quite difficult believe me! Great movie though overall haha As far as occuptions in horror goes there are so many doctors in horror of all types! The Harbinger is pretty neat. Not great but a solid Nightmare on Elm Street dream type horror. Thanks for for talking about this movie Kylie! 9:21 another casting choice was that Selena Gomez was apparently supposed to play Jill but didn’t end up taking it as she was still with Disney and seeing her in blood on screen was not appropriate under Disney Channel’s rule book. This is even why people theorised Selena would be in Scream 5. The cast even tricked us by all following Selena then unfollowing her to cause some theories😂 Courtney Cox even commented under a Selena insta post about Sel’s cooking show saying something along the lines of being excited to meet Selena. So Idk I mean Selena is said to act in an upcoming horror about an influencer and she is slaying it on Only Murders so it’s not like she isn’t familiar with horror or a gorier role. So having her in scream 7 could be exciting I mean the Internet would go wild.

Kylie, yet another great video. Scream 4 is one of my favorites in the franchise. What separates the Scream franchise from other horror franchises like Friday the 13th, Halloween etc. is the care that goes into it. They care about making good movies. And the first one I'd say is a great film. (Oh, an addendum: John Carpenter cared about making a good movie in the original Halloween. Then the sole interest w/ 5, 6, 7 etc. was merely money. That's the downside of capitalism: the dollar supersedes care, creativity, smartness etc.)

I feel sorry that Wes was so fed up with the Ratstein brothers.. From what I've heard, he was one of the nicest people you could ever work with, so the fact that even he was losing his patience with those sons of bitches to the point that he hung up a calendar to count the days he wouldn't have to deal with them is honestly kind of heart-breaking. The Ratsteins are like ebola if it were human, a disgusting, violent, awful disease that ruins everything and everyone around them. With that said, it's really a miracle that the Scream movies turned out so great. In my opinion, if a movie production was really hard to get done and had loads of delays but still turns out great, that's a sign of a great movie. Look at Jaws, for instance, or the original A Nightmare on Elm Street. Also, random, but I like that the cult is like a coven. After all, we are the weirdoes, mister. 😁

There's lots to love, I just think that the dynamic between Dewey and Gale really annoyed me on my last watch, Sydney's aunt gets zero story/screen time, and the gloss/vaseline look is bad. Amazing video as always, thanks!

New subscriber here! Terrific video! 🎉 Just my 2 cents but I don’t think Jill necessarily cared that her ex cheated on her but I think it was more of an ego thing. She said before she kills him “I’m not the girl you cheat on” like she’s more insulted at the audacity of him cheating rather than she actually missed him. He bruised her ego and mind you she’s a closeted egomaniacal killer searching for notoriety/fame.

As an ND Person who compulsively says the last syllable of words when theyre cut off, that intro was PHYSICALLY PAINFUL *stares vacantly, eye twitching* ..RED! RIGHT! HAND!… Ahh, much better. Anyway,,.. your video is awesome, every comment is gonna say that, you know that, and it’s dumb and useless for me to say the same …but I have a somewhat unique thing to add. Wes was beloved, we know this. But did you know he was beloved by even the Little Folk on set? Down to the PAs! So..storytime..My dad (and Uncles and….so forth, not tryina dox myself) was a Teamster. As it turns out… Other Teamsters would talk about what a great guy Wes was on sets that werent even his. Unprompted, on whole other projects! Dad never got to work with him but told me about this because i’m so into Wes Craven’s work, but also as a life lesson i think. If youre in the position to do so, be like Wes Craven. The more people do that, the more we raise the bar. To sum up…..Your (quasi) tears are warranted. Wes is a presence sorely missed in the industry regardless of the quality of some of his films. His sets were super egalitarian. He’d talk to the guys in the credits nobody knows, like Gaffers and such. Just because he was a nice man, and the fame never got to his head. My uncle who actually worked with Wes more than once full-on Ugly Cried when he heard Wes had died… When i was a kid, I saw that man put a nail through his hand with a nailgun and just say “poop” (cleaned to be pg). Pulled out the nail and then got back to work helping build a deck in our backyard. An actual Tough guy, and it broke his heart when heaven reclaimed an angel, or whatever. Anyway .. your video is Good, but you knew that already (i hope! :) ). Looking forward to next week. ….and to anyone still reading my nonsense, go see Scream 6! (Ps, being in a Scream movie isnt a Normal White Boy Thing…I was 20 for a whole year ;) )

I don't love this movie, but I love its third act. From Jill's reveal onward, the movie is great.

I was originally indifferent to Scream 4 when it came out, didn't love it but didn't hate it, but I grew to like it.. my expectations were probably unfair since it was a highly anticipated film for me and because it felt like forever since Scream 3.. I don't think I even thought we'd get another Scream film at the time.. in 2023 I'd probably rather watch Scream 4 over any other sequel in the franchise.. Eww at Emma Roberts saying she doesn't read.. yeah her father and aunt are respected actors but c'mon.. I did like her in Nerve and We're the Millers a few years later, but c'mon she's no Frances McDormand lol.. anyways I always thought she was miscast in Scream 4, but it doesn't really bother me now like it used to.. the twist works from a shock value standpoint, but I just never found Emma convincing as a psycho, but whatever.. Rory Culkin and Hayden Panettiere were great additions and Culkin was perfectly cast.. A Wes Craven film starring Christina Ricci and Jesse Eisenberg should never be bad, but here we are.. it pains me to say that the movie sucks for the most part no matter how hard I tried to like it..

She regularly plays psychos now hahaha her in AHS and Scream Queens is reminiscent of Jill

@@HauntedHippieinteresting.. I was just talking about her Scream 4 performance specifically.. I haven't seen her in those projects although AHS 1984 has one of the coolest TV intros ever.. I've honestly only seen 4 Emma Roberts films and one of them was Blow, which was her first film and she was a child with a minor role so that barely even counts..

Jill telling on herself is probably because the hospital put her on the good painkillers.

I definitely prefer the alternate opening in this movie. I always watch it with that version. I have 2 issues with this movie though: 1. For me it lacks the emotionality of the first 3 movies. 2. I really try to like the rebecca death scene but it’s a little hard for me somehow. Anyone who likes Scre4m: Whats your opinion on that scene?

Always found it odd that Gale & Dewey never had Kids, I always thought it would've been interesting to see Gale, Dewey & Sidney's Kids all dealing with the Ghostface killer. I for one, would've gotten Courtney & David's real life Daughter Coco Arquette
