I didn't expect Colin to grovel, i love how it went because they are old friends, he made a badly worded comment but other than what has he truly done wrong? People in long friendships, specially when the person is younger and a friend of your sibbling, do take a longer time to realize what that chemistry is about. I mean, Colin has always loved her, what he realised was that he also could and he does desires her, and instead of denying the feelings and playing games, he went for her. He's not in doubts because the love was already there, now just the desire is added and to him it's simple. And he had also compromised her already. It makes perfect sense to me. haha

I do agree with that haha, it does match them more and make more sense with their story. I also have always felt like deep down he loved her but just hasn’t realized his own feelings. For me the only reason I wanted him to grovel for her was because slow burn romances are a fave trope of mine!😂🖤

@@samanthaartsSame but this way we get soooo many lovely scenes in part 2. Nic said those are some of her favorite scenes as they get to explore just being in love.

I assume that Cressida's father didn't want his daughter with Eloise because Lady Whistledown wrote that she was seen "Unchaperoned" and "speaking with radicals" which would actually lower Cressida's standing being friends with a girl like that.

True, don’t know how I forgot/didn’t think about that. 🤦♀️😂😂

I know everyone wanted Colin to grovel, but I prefer it this way. I think it would be unfair for her to hold what he said over his head for too long when she herself makes a living talking about other people (including him). Plus, Colin has always been good at taking accountability for his actions. It's a good way to put the characters on an even playing field, but ultimately this is friends to lovers, so I'm glad that's what got the main focus in these batch if episodes.

Yeah it definitely fits their story more, I just love the slow burn trope 😂🥲

Basically, if you’re *not* married by your third year out on the marriage mart you are basically unmarryable: you are the maiden aunt. So Penelope using Colin to find a husband is the most desperate thing in the history of all desperate things to have ever been classified as a desperate thing, at least in the eyes of the ton.

@@samanthaartsAlso, just them being alone without a chaperone would be considered improper and she would be ruined. They’re not really supposed to socialize with the opposite sex unless it’s in a social setting of some sort.

@@samanthaarts Basically, yeah. If you're single by 20 (and are a woman) you are going to be alone for ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever in this time period. You will die alone, eaten by your 27 cats.

As of S2 Eloise is somewhat persona non grata remember? She was consorting with radicals! I think Colin has been dreaming of being a loving husband since puberty, about finding someone with whom he can feel totally intimate on every level. Once he stopped thinking of Penelope as a "sister" then he knew what he wanted. And once she confirmed she felt the same way--and he was clearly terrified she did not--that was teh proverbial IT. Of course he proposed that very night.

@@samanthaarts yeah I especially like it when she was on the side watching as Colin walked up to Penelope and the way his mom looked over at him when he didn't get to talk to Penelope....and when she went to talk to him in his study....and even when she talked to him on the stairs and told him that Penelope was getting proposed to....his mom is definitely team Polin....she is the one who got Colin to think fast about actually going to that ball and getting his girl! And, now this whole LW thing has to come out after he proposed to her already....I don't really like that...because he's going to be mad at her....hope he gets over it fast....and marries her!
