This band got me into writing and music! There was a time when the only cd's I had were Other worlds+Clair-voy-ance+Even If+Invis. lantern+Changes Has Come+Buzz Factory+Uncle+Lee Conner's solo work. I don't even have their more known workl anymore because it reminds me too much of their decline. But I listened to nothing else by any other band for awhile. Good to see I discovered diversity :) But they will always be everything that is strange out here ;)

Man! Dig Gary Lee's solo, and the way Van Conner and Mark Pickerel are playing behind him. These guys were listening to Cream.

It's a split cd of Screaming Trees/Beat Happening on k records 1988. It's a little hard to get, but only 4 songs on it. This one is the only Trees' contribution. But one of my fav. Invisible Lantern era songs :) You can just envision what it felt like to write, demo, play these songs in that little 4 track recording studio in ellensburg called Velvetone. Living in the attic of a boring ass boat house... The picture of polly that she can't be without... She's all wrapped up putting puzzles together. Hoping that maybe... it'll change the weather... Just like polly pereguin shes messin up her hair again, go tell polly pereguin, then you'll see...Comin down the stairs again, polly looked at her sin...Stains upon the floor filled 1 by one. Openin the window that she painted red, the rain outside lands upon her head... Just like polly pereguin...

@KurtCobainof21 He never wantet to be John Lennon, he had huge respect from his music, his whole artwork, from his development of musician skills. And not only Lennon played a huge part how Kurt was thinking about the possibilitys of music/art. The whole Beatles where the band he had the most respect from. He wantet to be a big Rockstar like John was, but Kkurt was never that smallminded that he wished to be John ^Lennon. He just wantet to be once a legend like John, and this he has reached!!!

She's comin down the stairs again, just like Polly Pereguin,..Noticing the carpet stains 1 by one. Then she goes out to the terrace, statues made of plaster of paris...Lighting up a cigarette, she stairs in the sun...Well she's messin up her hair again by sitting in that chair again,then she spills a bvowl of cherries over the wall... Just like polly pergeuin shes messin up her hair again...Then you'll see... Sittin on the bed in a room well after, the aftermath sparks a real disiaster...

Kinda feeling bad for this band cuz as I scroll thru the comments I see that, like me, pretty much everyone listening to this song did so cuz Kurt Cobain loved it so much. It's alright. Prob be better if I could understand all the lyrics. But what I can decipher is cool.

he wanted to be john lennon as a kid/adolescent, not as an adult, and finally his music and looks were very different from lennon's. that's a very stupid comparison, kurt had nothing in common with the wannabes that go all around youtube.
@Sean02112213 жыл бұрын
@nataleem1998 This is actually one band I can listen to practically everything of theirs and not say "i can or have written something better". I'm obsessed with their lyrics, Only difference is I can write this way sober, they had to be f'ed up to write these words. My clairvoyance comes naturally :P
@KurtCobainof2114 жыл бұрын
Thats not true at all, I know lots of instances of him as an adult where he openly aped john lennon. And Im not comparing him to youtube wannabes at all. There were plenty of silly Lennon wannabes, but Kurt was one of the genius ones. Youll find hundreds of stupid copycats, but only few are truly inspired. Im just saying theres nothing wrong with understanding him as an artist, his favourite bands etc. Its just somn to learn from
