They really did! It would have been interesting to see how the show would have developed if Tori Spelling had become a permanent cast member, and Violet and Screech had had a long term relationship. She really brought out the best in Screech. Lisa should have had a long term love interest too.

This episode taught me 2 things. 1- Be careful about who my friends are. If that person shows any signs of selfishness, then, don't associate with them. 2- If someone tries to goat you into poker, walk away. The odds always stack up against you.

I’m not alone in this…when Dustin Diamond “Screech Powers,” passed away, his former co-workers were distranged from him…He was the smartest person on the show even if that’s the role he got, it was uncool…everyone grieves differently, but I don’t recall anyone saying something from the heart, more like “rehearsed,” by their attorneys to appear appropriate among the Saved by the Bell Franchise 😢

Come to think of it, the episode was nuts. No 90s high school teenage boys spend their evening dancing to 60s surf music (internet was sparce, but come on), and since all of them, except Kelly, weren't broke, that money wasn't like fixing the cars that were wrecked in other episodes, or raising money towards Lisa's fathers card. Even worse, they never really taught Maxwell a lesson. They lost money, he got his date, plus he already kissed Jessie. Not to mention the party plot could've came after the statue broke, but like I said, plot device.......

What a wonderfully wholesome sitcom, even with the forced multiculturalism, it didn't seem as blatantly obvious and agenda driven back then. White people were portrayed normally, and not deliberately made to seem inferior or never allowed to partner with one another, like now. Blacks and other non-Whites were given positive portrayal and everyone was friends. It was a time we all looked past race and the shame of history & the sins of our fathers and just wanted to believe that the world was a good and fair place just so long as people made the effort and stayed positive. Now there is a poisonous agenda in media, and I never thought I would long so much for corny sitcoms like Saved by the Bell in my adult years!
