This was my favorite episode too, Dahl’s story was interesting and I’d like to know more about her and what happened to her. Spy Dancer was a close second for me.

If you dig deeper to the culteral aspect of the short (Ireland), the short made more sense in a way. Basically the short is base on Irish folklore. Basically the sith in the cave is a reference to a Banshee while the Sith mother was a reference to a dark fairy (forgot what they were called) which were know for seducing children to take them away. Also the way Dahl pray into the amulet is what Irish people did to commune with their religon too!

The Sith Mother did give me faerie vibes, especially with her ship. In a way Daal is a "stolen child" like in the Loreena Mckennitt song.

I like how the ending is ominous. In the Old Republic Era, many Siths were different. Some actually had noble intentions and some actually are straight-up evil. What made me very interested is how the Sith Mother actually spared Daal's friends and allowed her to make a choice if she wants to be her apprentice or not. However, the path to the Dark Side will turn those who follow it into evil Force Users. The first episode "Sith" had Lola's Sith Master wanting his former apprentice to kill and surpass him which made him proud in the end. Sith is really complicated depending on who the Sith Master is and how they are raised to follow the Dark Side with different ideologies. In Legends, Darth Marr is my favorite Sith because of his pragmatism, duty to the Sith Empire, and lack of arrogance. Despite this, he was evil because he was Sith until his death. Another example is Darth Vectivus (Legends). He was evil because he was a Banite Sith, but he died naturally surrounded by his friends and loved ones. I presume one of his friends was his Sith Apprentice. Sith are really complicated but their actions are nonetheless evil. Since they made a book and comic to continue Ronin's story, I hope they make a book and a comic for Screecher's Reech to continue Daal's journey to becoming a powerful Sith Apprentice under the Sith Mother. If so, I really hope they make the Sith Mother different from Sidious who abused Vader in every way. This can give us a different perspective of the Sith. All the Sith are evil no matter what kind of Sith they are. That is what we cannot forget.
@thechunkmaster8794 Жыл бұрын
I don't think Darth Marr was evil because he was actually able to become a force ghost after he died.
@ryankwon8785 Жыл бұрын
@@thechunkmaster8794 Darth Marr's view of the Force changed over time. He likely passed the Sith's version of the Force Ghost test. The reason is that both the Light Side and the Dark Side serve the Force.

I really loved everything about this episode! The children working, the banshee, the "choosing to get a better life elsewhere" (America or Sith nation), the way she holds her medal like the Irish do to pray, her ginger hair, her flush in her face and freckles, all of the story screams Irish! A special mention to the mother's ship and the lightsaber, both with AMAZING designs!

I have a tiny theory I have a feeling the older boy in the group will be a Jedi in the future since he is more associated with the light and saves the kids out of the tunnel and the most caring and kind hearted and selfless out of the group which does make sense to the characteristics of a Jedi

I really hope that if Cartoon Saloon is given the opportunity to continue Daal's story, I hope they take it the first chance they get. I would love to see what happens after Daal joins the Sith and whether or not she has fully embraced the darkness or comes to the realisation that she made a mistake.

I like to think that this story is set during the high republic era, or some generations after Darth Bane's establishment of the rule of two, and main character is one of the earlier Palpatine's predecessors. Makes this story more impactful and gives some insight in how some of the sith masters recruited their pupils.

Daal reminds me of Edmund Pevensie from the Chronicles of Narnia. Her siblings remind me of the Pevensies. The Sith Mother reminds me of the White Witch Jadis. Liked how this story is subversion of the hero’s journey and shows that villains are not always monsters but can be influenced by circumstances.

I love this story. It's my favorite because it feels real , all the others are more or less typical happy endings with good-willed people. Here, Daal is a miserable and desperate child who wants nothing but to escape her prison, a life as a corporate slave. But look at what she did and signed up for to do so. She chose a path of darkness Because it was literally her only option. She killed, abdoned her friends behind, and will certainly become evil, but it will be " a better life". Her story is sooo similiar to Darth Bane, who grew up in simuliar circumstances. Poor and desperate people Choose evil because it is actually better, in the real world too: theft, drugs, prostitutes, deception. For me, it calls into question the type of society we have that LEADs people towards evil. A person ultimatetly chooses, but society is the one presenting the limited options. A great story usually has a morale
