Yes Kris, happy fall for sure. Both jackets are very nice.

Thank you! They definitely both have their advantages.

Just got back from the Pacific Northwest West. Took my Last Crusade inspired Federation 4 with me and it’s a champ. It got drenched a couple times, once by the rain and sea spray on a rocky beach and if anything it simply just got cleaner and a little softer. The screen accurate idea is always interesting but I think it’s better to pick a generic Indy look and then let the hat do what it’s going to do, it’ll look both Indiana Jones and true to You.

Getting the Fed IV some action, awesome! Yeah, my old Fed is so soft now that I can pretty much mold it how I want on the fly. I agree with you about screen accuracy, but some folks are looking for that. I say that we already have Indiana Jones; be your own Jones!

@@HatLifeAdventures Yeah, I get the perfect screen accuracy thing, but if you wear it any amount of time that’ll gradually change anyway. I find myself fighting my perfectionism. The hat’s taken on its own life, brim swoop’s different to how I steamed it, the crown has shrunk and settled slightly, the ribbon has stretched a little-all perfectly normal and makes it molded to my head, like leather boots molding themselves to your feet. It has its own character now…and my perfectionism makes me look over with a fine-tooth comb 🤣 Oh well, it gets compliments everywhere it goes!

That’s YOUR hat now, my brother! Sounds like a fine piece with the beginnings of a story!

The jacket looks great. The second jacket is really nice but the difference is obvious.
@HatLifeAdventures11 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yeah, the difference in feel when they’re being worn is really noticeable.

Hi I hate to say it, I have one and it’s not a good hat, very cheap. I bought a federation IV because I’ve watched all of your vids, and I love it. 30s styled by the Hattery and I just tightened the pinch a little just to make it mine. I’ve just landed in Rome from Cairo and Luxor so mine has lots of dust and sweat from the actual Pyramids and Tomb’s.

Yeah, I’m afraid of it being cheaply made. I figured that folks should know either way. Congratulations on the Fed IV and your travels together! Sounds like you’re having a blast, keep us updated! Thank you! Kris

Hi Phil, great to hear your Fed IV is having adventures! I got one recently too - how do you find it deals with sweat? I expect a bit of staining on the inside material is a given. Safe travels, may you find fortune and glory!

No staining that I can see the head band has only tightened a tiny bit, its been on 7 flights, and been in from 17C aircon'd room, my steamy bathroom with high humidity to a scorching 54C 0 humidity while at the Pyramids @@WaypointComics

How do you like Akubra coober pedy hat?
@HatLifeAdventures10 ай бұрын
It's a really good looking hat! The brim is too wide for my frame, unfortunately. I have been looking at the Coolabah or the Leisure Time for my next purchase from The Hattery. Do you have a Coober Pedy?

Hi my friend. What is the new hat you’re talking about? Can u please post in here? Thank you!!

Yes! It’s a Cotswold: www.cotswoldcountryhats.com/mens-brown-snap-brim-fedora-hat---indiana-jones-style-9369-p.asp I don’t really know anything about it except that it’s had some really positive reviews by owners.

I quit buying wool hats because I've owned several. After only a few times being rained on they begin to disintegrate to the point they can no longer be shaped at all. They simply fall apart.
@HatLifeAdventures11 ай бұрын
I’m definitely a fan of fur over wool. I’m really curious to see how the Cotswold compares to the licensed wool Indy hat that runs around seventy dollars.
@Man_Cave11 ай бұрын
I can tell you from experience the thicker wool lasts longer, but ultimately still suffers the same fate. They are generally poor investments. The crushable wool felts were once OK because they were cheap, but not anymore. I would never pay anymore more than $80.00 for a crushable wool-felt hat. None of them do well in heavy weather in the long run.@@HatLifeAdventures

I completely agree. The best thing to do, if someone wants a good hat, is to save up and get a fur felt with a solid reputation.
