I had to rewatch the Amazing Spiderman and noticed electro opened his eyes after stacy said the word "Peter". Almost all people knew in that universe that a Peter Parker worked getting pictures of spiderman. At the moment Stacy said the name electro could link that Peter Parker was Spiderman without knowing his face.

So from my understanding, the reason the other Mary Jane/Gwen, Harry and even Aunt May from the other Peters didn't show up is because Strange removed them from the spell, to Peter's request. "Everyone will forget except your girlfriend, your best friend and your aunt" so therefore that's why they weren't brought there

Sandman’s heel turn comes from the fact that he just wants to go home. When working with Peter is the most direct way to get home he does it, when the villains revolt he can see that this will likely push Peter to banish them back to their timelines unfixed, which is still a good result for him. Sandman has always been shown in the films to protect his own self interest in a wishy washy way.

After watching it at home, I noticed that when Peter moved into his new apartment, he has a box that reveals he’s taking his GED, so it seems like he might not have any school records. If that’s the case, Strange may have erased all traces of Peter’s existence.

When Peter went into the coffee shop and noticed his girlfriend and best friends lives were "better" cause they didn't know him and he chose not to make them remember. Damn that really tugged on the heart strings. Really hoping they eventually can get their memories back someway. Although I doubt it, it's easier to write the 2 of them off especially considering that was last spiderman movie

Electro says in the film "I was in the mainframe gathering data and information. I nearly had it all and then..." So if the villains are coming in when they LEARN spidermans identity, that still fits. Doc Oc and Norman Osborne learn his identity because they physically see Peter Parker remove his mask. But electro learnt his identity via data. He just hadn't seen him physically yet.

In regards to Electro trusting Octavious, when he decided he didn't want to be cured he threw a blast at Octavious, so besides Octavious attacking SpiderMan he probably thought that his blast might have fried the new inhibitor chip again. He even did say something like "he liked him better before", so he probably actually intended to fry the chip.

Here’s my biggest question. Does the spell at the end make everyone across the multiverse forget Peter Parker or only the Tom Holland one? Like is Tobey and Andrew gonna go back to nobody remembering them at all? Cause that’s gonna suck for MJ and Tobey. Not to mention, does that mean Franco still dies in the third film from Topher Grace? Cause he never would have turned into the new goblin now that Norman is cured. And Tobey would still have to fight Venom. Does Franco live because Dafoe is cured now? Then if Tobey is forgotten as Peter Parker, wouldn’t MJ and Harry be dating more than likely? That’s gonna break Tobey’s heart. God they could make a whole new Sam Raimi trilogy off of that.

I like to think it would be instanced for "this" Peter Parker. Name and face go hand in hand for MCU spiderman, especially for the spell. The initial spell that Strange attempted only went awry due to the changes by MCU Peter's meddling, but the new spell most likely accounted, by Strange, for the current universe's Peter as well as to fix the initial issues the previous spell caused, if using the simplest understanding. Granted, magic can be pretty blase with its "purpose" as per writer's arguements.

I think not. It was Holland's Peter Parker identity that caused the problem and attracted everyone in his reality. Everyone that knew who Peter Parker was to their universe were attracted to MCU universe because the spell had as a parameter Holland's Peter Parker identity that was exposed. Dr. Strange wouldn't need to apply the spell for the multiverse. Even if he did (and could), the spell would work for Holland's identity specifically as this was the main problem. The worst case scenario is that other Spidermen and ex-villans would forget about Holland's PP identity.

Here's a plot hole that a lot of people overlook: when Doc Ock first saw the Green Goblin on the freeway, he immediately identified him as Norman Osborn. How could he have possibly know this? Green Goblin's identity was never made public, not even his own son found out about it until later. _Maybe_ you could say that Ocatvius figured it out for himself because him and Osborn were peers of sorts and so he was familiar with his tech, but that would he a Hell of a thing to keep to himself!

I mean if he figured it out while the Green Goblin was on his rampage, that means he was knowingly withholding evidence from the authorities. Imagine if Spider-Man hadn't saved those people on the tram; their deaths would be on his conscience before he even became a villain. Not to mention this also raises the question as to why Harry wasn't able to figure out his identity after he took over Oscorp and would have found out about all that tech.

Sandman did mention that norman was the green goblin and he heard that he was killed by his own glider. His identity could have been revealed publicly after Harry's death because they shared similar tech and he was pretty well known as being Normans son.

I think that Peter at the end of the movie creates his own suit because it metaphorically shows how he disconnects from his past to start a new life, and shows his evolution as a character. It shows how he moved on from his “iron boy” or “stark mascot” phase, to now create his own identity as Spider-Man. Before this movie, he didn’t had an origin (trauma), he had a lot of people who backed and helped him, and he was just an immature teen, which didn’t had a own identity or a stamp. At the end of movie he has an origin (aunt May’s death), he has no one, he has matured and learned from his mistakes (great power comes with great responsibility ), and creates his own stamp, “the neighborhood spider-man who always does everything by himself”. In this way the character matured into a more similar Peter Parker from the comics. So, In conclusion, creating his own suit metaphorically means that we will se now a new grown up Spider-Man with his background story. He is literally and metaphorically departuring from his past life to start a new one. He leaving stark industries behind. And he is also leaving his friends behind, that’s why he doesn’t want to meet them and try to have a relationship. He matured for the good. He knows his destiny. That’s why I think this Spider-Man movies is just the start and origin of the super-hero that will develop in future films.

As much slack as Tom’s Spider-Man got for being reliant on so many other characters, I like that they took 3 movies building up his arc of an independent character. It almost makes him a more complex character, where a series of events lead to his growth, not just a single moment. Opens up a lot of opportunities for the new trilogy as well :)

One of my biggest questions was Electro knowing who Peter Parker is… this is kind of a stretch, but they explain it in No Way Home in the same scene they talk about coming to the mcu earth. Electro is talking about kicking Spider-Man’s ass and says “I was in the grid collecting data.” This seems like massive amounts of data, so who knows what that could mean. Could be cell phone calls with Gwen at least connecting the name Peter Parker’s name to Spider-man. This would make since you the theory of coming over the moment they knew he was Peter Parker.

For Peter not having his Nanotech suit at the end of the movie, my cousin actually mentioned something I thought was interesting. After Strange wiped any memory of Peter Parker, Peter would lose the Nanotech suit since when Tony made it, the suit knew it was designed for Peter. So, now not having any memory of him, Peter would lose access to that suit, therefore making his own once again.

I have a theory about the final spell. We, the audience, don't know the specific parameters Strange put into it, we only have a rough idea about all the "rules". In a future movie we can find out Strange added something that would allow MJ and Ned, and maybe even Strange himself, to remember under certain circumstances. Something similar was done in a Spider-man comic involving the Fantastic Four some time after One More Day. He told them his identity and they suddenly recovered all of their memories involving Peter.

Since the power plant where they fight in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was owned by Oscorp, and Peter Parker's father worked at Oscorp, and with all the new information Harry Osborn learned in that movie, it makes total sense that Max absorbed data that included the fact that Peter Parker was the only successful mutation and was now Spider-Man. Such smart writing. Just ONE small line that explains a potential huge plot hole.

I agree it isnt perfect but it isnt unreasonable either. 2 other layers, first, if he did remember dr connors, but does this one look VERY different, and it is a common last name, so we could go there as well. Second, the idea of a universal cannon here is problematic for many reasons, so these might no be EXACTLY the same spidermen we know from the previous films, but rather alternate SLIGHTLY different ones. Now this is the most boring explanation but since they never outright say which earth from the multiverse the characters come from, we cant know for sure if these are the ones from the previous franchises. If Strange didn't erase all physical records of Peter, why was he studying for his GED? I assumed, at first, it was only memories, then I saw the GED booklet in the box which must mean, there's no record of him enrolled in the highschool he's about to graduate from. That will cause some really serious problems later on, like no SSN, so no job. The spell wouldn't make someone ignore peter or if they found evidence he was Spiderman, make them ignore it. It's just a forget spell. Not an ignore forever spell. It was kind of lame that Happy said he knows Spiderman through May. He would have known Spiderman through Tony. That was just one of the issues this movie had. It seems like they forget some of the other movies. Just like most of the new stuff has been doing. Spiderman is still an Avenger. He could have contacted Nick Fury, Pepper, or have Dr Strange get in contact with Fury rather than warp reality. By the way, Nick Fury could still call on him... Of course, he'd have to physically come get him and wonder why he doesn't have any contact info for him. Peter wasn't controlling his body when he was in Astral form. He was distracted and confused and even asked if he was dead while Dr Strange was trying to grab the box. Peter started swimming back when his physical body was moving the box, so he wasn't controlling it. I think it was his spider instinct. The biggest problem I had was how OP the Green Goblin was. He body slammed Spiderman through several floors of the building, took some pretty nasty punches and not even a bruise. Peter was bleeding, cut and bruised while the Goblin didn't have a scratch. As a matter of fact, his face also managed to stay clean. He was super, but not stronger than Spiderman. He was more on par with Captain America. They missed a perfect opportunity by not doing something with Ned and magic as an end credit scene. They just left it hanging, ignoring it for the rest of the movie. They just treated it like something to help the movie along and nothing more. I think you're stretching to try and find a reason why Electro knows Peter. I think they just thought it would make for a cute scene and ignored (or just missed) the implications. They've been making a lot of mistakes like this in these new MCU movies and letting the fans come up with excuses. The Venom bit, I didn't know because I haven't seen the last Venom movie. They may have changed Venom to be a multi-dimensional being, but he changed dimensions before he knew who Peter was. He saw Peter on the tv in Peter's universe, so there was still no reason for him to switch dimensions other than the writers grasping at straws trying to find ANY way to get Venom to be more comic-accurate.

This is a lot to read but i believe it will answer and alleviate your concerns. 1) peters wipe and his GED -- Even though peter is wipped from everyone's minds his school record's are still in existence. However, he never graduated. He was only applying to colleges to prepare for after graduation. His record's, SSN and Birth certificate all still exist and can be used to get a job. He needs his GED because he couldn't go back to a school where no one remembers him. 2) reason for not mentioning iron mans connection to spiderman -- At the end of the film happy tells peter that he knows spiderman through Aunt may because they were at the grave site. It was an emotional connection. One that makes sense considering the circumstances. No one forgot the past movies and they are still valid. Did not pulled an X men. 3) the reason for the spell- Peter is a smart kid but still an emotional teenager. And Dr. Strange is always over confident in his methods. Between them they believed that doing the memory wipe was the right way to go. The spell went horribly wrong because of peters interference. And it only braught in other villans and other spiders because of what silvia did in the Loki series. Even strange said that this shouldn't have been possible. 4) Spider man's out of body experience - your right, his spider sense was controlling his body. It shows in his astro form. 5)Goblins damage - I agree, the Goblin should've been bleeding. It would've added more of a realistic vibe if he was laughing while blood was coming out of his mouth. And he isn't that durable. 6) Neds magic - I agree that they only used it to move the story forward. But it brought us a live action spiderverse so I'm not complaining. But Ned and MJ will be back in future Spiderman movies. They will atleast discuss his magic ability but it will most likely be for a quick laugh and throw away line. His destiny is to be something else. I for one can't wait for him to turn evil. The emotional impact that will take on this peter parker will be devastating. Especially if he accidentally kills him in midst of combat. (This movie forshadows his demise. Hope it happens) 7) electro knowing peter parker - I agree that people are fishing for an explanation. I don't think the writers could have dived more into how or why he knows peter without it feeling forced. Plus Over explanations always ruin the film. I'm glad they left it open for interpretation. And I believe that the writers knew this would be an issue and tossed in the line when electro stated that he was gathering up data before he died. It's possible he could have gathered some info and made the connection. 8) Venom ending - venom has a hive mind. He tapped into it causing him to connect to the other venom symbiote from spiderman 3. This forced him to shift realities. He saw the suit and knew who the kid was. BTW i hate how they're doing the venom movies. They all suck and shouldn't have ever existed. But I'm still glad that it created a door way for this spiderman to get corrupted by it. MCU will do better with it's story arc in one movie then sony could do in 2. 9) i hope this helps. BTW out of all the past MCU movies this one has the least plot holes.

As long as he still has his A in Biology (for example) it doesn't matter if the teacher remembers him or not. His name would still be on the roll-call. 2. his connection should have gone back further. More emotional and long-lasting if the connection was through Tony. Knowing Spiderman through May, makes no sense and raises more questions. How does May know Spiderman if she doesn't know peter? Makes much more sense to know Spiderman through Ironman because Spiderman was needed in Civil War. 3. I agree, but Peter should have still been thinking of mundane means of solving the problem, first. He had a closer tie to Nick Fury than Dr Strange and he's seen how much power Fury holds as a super spy. 5. He was extremely durable. He was beating Spiderman without breaking a sweat and the punches he took didn't even stagger him. That's pretty durable. 6. I don't get the impression that Ned will turn evil or that Peter will have to kill him. I also don't get the impression that MJ and Ned will show up again. It felt like this was opening Spiderman up for a reboot. 7. If Electro gathered infor that Peter was Spiderman, they could have (and should have) easily through in one simple sentence to prove that. Like so many other things in the the new MCU, I feel like the writers are being lazy and missing too many things. 8. I stand by my comment. He said that him shifting realities wasn't him. That means, it had to have been the spell. I didn't see or hear anything about Venom connecting to any other hive mind or knowing who Spiderman was before he saw the current Peter. I agree about the Venom movie. It was fun to watch, but not as a Marvel movie. Still waiting for the second one to come on Disney+ to watch it. Same as Eternals. I disagree about the least plot holes. I think Shang Chi has the least issues, this go around. The rings are completely different than the comics, but, ignoring that, it was really good with no real issues.

@Charles Mount I have a thought when it comes to the GED. I do think it’s still possible all physical evidence of Peter exists while still getting the GED and memories being wiped. It might not be so much that he doesn’t have official documentation and records, but more so he made a personal choice not to go back to high school following all those events. Being around Ned and MJ could’ve made things very emotionally and mentally tiring for him, so despite him still having a school record, HE made the CHOICE to leave high school for the GED instead for those reasons I mentioned. My biggest gripe is why a random employee of Damage Control knew Nick Fury is alive and that he was in Space. When Peter tried to use Fury as an alibi I was expecting Damage Control to reply that Fury has been dead for years. Am I missing something that reversed Fury faking his death? And while Damage Damage Control was a part of Shield at some point, following CA:TWS it was brought into the US government. Why does a random government employee know so much about Fury. Unless this was a set up for Secret Invasion and the damage control guy was a Skrull.

May be it was set for Secret Invasion, or may be it's simply in the end of the movie, when Nat made all SHIELD data public, data about Fury's fake death were leaked as well (this happened after he revealed he's still alive to Pierce), or simply the DODC has a wider intelegent knowledges than we thought. Remember he was in Tony's funeral so everybody there must know he's alive, including Ross and Pym.

The way Electro described where he came from makes it seem like he was from the ending of Tasm2 and he didn’t realise he was gonna die. It's possible this could be a spawn of venom, like carnage was. Thus, since the spawn was "born in this universe" and "doesn't know peter parker" the spell wouldn't affect it. It was aimed at making everyone forget, which would only work on sending those other entities BACK to their own universes IF it also made them forget, too. That means, everyone, in every universe, had to forget that Peter Parker (not just Tom's) even exists. And, sure, they have that sort of fuzzy kind of thing going on about remembering, but like you said, they don't want to scratch that itch, instead avoid it if they come close to thinking about it. So, when the Andrew-Spidey and Tobey-Spidey go back to their own universes, it means no one would remember them, as a requirement for the spell. Andrew-Spidey pretty much admits he doesn't have many people of any sort, so no real worries there, sadly. But, what of Tobey-Spidey? He married his MJ! Wouldn't he go back to his universe to find his marriage basically doesn't exist? She wouldn't know who this stranger is that came in through the window into her house or apartment! As an extra: They really ought to do another Tobey-Spidey and Andrew-Spidey movie to show their 'new lives' and everything that goes with how they handled the situation and all.

To everyone confused about the spell I have a pretty good theory about it. The original spell involved the world forgetting Tom's Peter being Spider-Man goes out of control and breaches into the multiverse, which means that Tom's Peter's identity is the focal point of the spell because he was the only Peter Parker at the time of the spell. But at the end of the movie, he asks Dr Strange to make everyone forget him, causing the spell to complete it's cycle since it applied specifically to only his Peter in the first place. Proof is that Dr Strange tells Peter that "they are coming through because of you" meaning only Tom's Peter's identity needed to be reset for the first spell to stop.

The Ending for me was one of the darkest and introspective moments in MCU history in my opinion. To see him essentially rendered nameless and his identity erased from existence and dawning the comic book version of his suit headed down a new path just brought tears to my eyes. This is exactly what happens in comic books. Peter is on a new journey now. And nothing will be the same again. It lived up to that old electric company Spider-Man theme: "Spider-Man, Where are you coming from, Spider-Man. Nobody knows who you are."

There is one where Sandman says he saw the news of Norman as the Green Goblin being killed by his own glider but that makes no sense because his death was kept secret from the public. Spidey carried his body back to his home and Norman had a proper funeral where Harry didn’t even know his dad was the Goblin until SM2. And even then it took SM3 for the butler to tell Harry that he found out that Norman was killed by his own glider. And this is definitely the same Sandman up until the end of SM3 because he’s initially cool with the Spidey he thinks he knows. As for Electro, that also doesn’t make sense he knew Peter was Spidey. This is not an Electro that lived to find out Spidey’s identity later on because his memories revealed to himself that he was about to die at the same end fight from TASM2. Everything up until that point should have remained the same.

@@Charliezard7 If you remember, when Max fell into the tank and got zapped by the eels, the energy (laughably) fixed his teeth. So on some level, he can make improvements on his physical appearance. It's weird, but is technically canon.

Only plot hole I didn’t understand was when Dr. strange sent everybody back, why was there a piece of venom stayed behind. Wouldn’t everything disappear

Venom consumes matter and creates more of himself. The blob left behind could be actual matter from the MCU that Venom had ingested and turned into more of himself, and when he was sent back the MCU created Venom material could have stayed behind.

I don’t understand how Tobey, once he came from the portal, grew up, maybe cuz the actor himself but Doc Ock said once he saw Tobey: “look how much have you grown”. And earlier in the movie, he said: “I grabbed Peter with my tentacles then…I came here”. So maybe the younger Tobey from ock’s universe was still going but maybe they time traveled And also Idk how Ock knew Norman was Green Goblin, and maybe it brought Norman back to life but the thing is, Ock also said when he was trapped: “you died years ago” so he knew in a way he was gonna time travel
