Be honest, how much did you love late 90s Brendan Fraser? POOL RULES One: Speak up and join the conversation- we encourage respectful debate. Two: Respect your community- racism, misogyny, homophobia and hate speech aren’t tolerated. Three: Don’t go looking for fights. Four: “Be nice.” - Dalton from Roadhouse

Cian Chatten Brendan is only fifty .He’s not that old plus he’s still handsome and hot .Tom cruise who is about 56 years old did the mummy 2017 .I don’t think anyone complained about him being in his fifties apart from the fact that the film itself is not as good as the 1999 franchise .Age is just a number at the end of the day and the story outline and the characters chemistry are the things that really matter .Brendan Fraser still can walk and he took part in great movies and Tv shows in recent years .Check out Trust and Doom Patrol.

Nostalgia critic and others exept Adam olinger thinks that this is just cheesy and not so good but this is even better than the original. The only reason critics think that 32 version is better is because it is a part of history and more historically accurate? Because i did some research and apart from the scroll of thoth , the Stephen sommer duology is more historically accurate because they hired to have an Egyptolygist on site and Arnold vasloo actually spoke anicent egyptian that the Egyptolygist wrote for him in a way he can say it. The original was good not bad , but the remake is much better . It took the concept built upon it and gave it a unique feel and I am proud to say this is my generations Indiana jones except for the third one it was bad.

@kazinadbiralamadit6905 5 жыл бұрын
@@sharilshahed6106 I am not saying that they are not funny but that they don't care for what others might think , In nostalgia critic's review of the mummy 1999 he said that people will forget it very soon but no they did not they still remember it for the fun and adventure it brought to many at the time one of the biggest disappointment ever and hell he did not even complement the music hell even those who did not like it that much said that the music is top notch. And the way he said it and said that Fraser was not cast well in the movie just made me want to punch him in the face and He just kept bashing him despite the fact many love his role in that movie along with the rest of the crew . And then there is Justice league the movie Snyder left to be with his family after his daughter committed suicide and Joss weadon reshot the whole movie and He still says that there are parts that are still snyder but no it is Weadon trying to emulate Snyder .

Agree totally man. Mummy and Mummy returns are great silly fun films......cos they know there just fun enjoyable shite.....not serious.....bumbling hero who is actually the FUCKING MAAAAAAAAAN when he needs to be, quick moving action daftness It wasnt a stupid plot someone tried to make all epic and serious and eeeeeeepic cos it needs to lead into a cinematically interconnected and decade spanning money machine....like mavels doing but cheaper, quicker and with zero care but with Tom Cruise cos who doesnt love him right?. If your films fucking stupid but really really fun then why try and be anything more. Thats why The Mummy 90s is so well loved And also because Rachel Weiz is sooooo fine its unreal. Shes all nerdy but still hot, clumsy and awkward but yeeeah you know she can ride.......a horse really well and fight by the end and maaaan that outfit is modest but shows off just enough that..........anyone up for kidnapping ahem I mean taking her on a surprise get away no one other than use "travel agents," wink wink knlw about...Ms Weiz....she still hot as fuck and be willing to share....first week tho cos my idea no discussion other than that open to suggestions mmmmmmm

I don't care if The Mummy or The Mummy Returns has flaws, no movie is perfect, it's the emotions and feelings a movie entices in you. And The Mummy, with its Egyptian theme, set in the desert, really makes you feel something else. I have watched both movies several times, and always love watching them. They bring back childhood memories, and just makes you feel like you're on a little Egyptian adventure while watching it.

I rewatched the first two a few months ago. They really hold up well. One thing I noticed is that, unlike many blockbusters today, there is almost not a single wasted scene. No padding no setting up sequels. The plot moves quick af

I’ve only watched this movie recently and I feel the same way .It is such a great and fun movie to watch .It deserves an Oscar and I think Brendan Fraser was really the best choice to play Rick O’Connell.Btw,I was born in 1999 and I feel special ha ha .It is also hard to believe that this masterpiece is twenty years old .We need another mummy movie with the original Evie (Rachel Weisz) and the original director Stephen Sommers and of course the beloved and charming Rick O’Connell (Brendan Fraser )

Nathaniel Foga Yep. Made a totally awful movie somewhat fun by his presence. Like Will Smith and Independence Day. Some actors are just beyond charming when embracing the cheese they are in.

@@johnstorm3473 no I'm straight, I don't think childhood crushes relate to sexual preference because we aren't sexually mature. Did my having a crush on a 30 year old man as a child make any more sense than having a crush on a girl? Neither meant anything, I just really really liked them.

I think the main thing people don't give The Mummy credit for through all the reviews and all of the criticisms is that to those of us who saw it in the theater as kids in the 90's, it was the closest thing we had to our own adventure film without having to be a new Indiana Jones. I absolutely loved it and still do in the same way my brother loved Star Wars when he was a kid. Benny is a fantastic villain through and through, and likeable in a lot of ways. His screen time is properly utilised. I love that the film isn't pulling the whole BB8 lighter in your face jokes but has genuine funny moments that don't shove the humor in your face. We'd be lucky to get another film like this one
