Totally correct. While Howard Stark did *help* Dr. Erskine administrate the super soldier syrum, the formula was only available from Dr. Erskine (see all the times it was only partially replicated with less success, i.e. The Winter Soldier). The best contribution from Mr Stark was to lead the production of Captain America's shield.

@kiantamar There is a fan theory that Ragnarok is actually being narrated by Thor to the kids on the evacuation ship, which is why everything is exaggerated, more comical, and different to what "we" are used to. Thor is trying to help the kids calm down, so he's playing up the humour. :)

There is one thing about these movies I don't get: In Age of Ultron, Cap says he don't think he can afford a place in Brooklyn which makes sense in some way given how the Avengers doesn't charge the world for saving it and Iron Man pretty much funds all their tech by his corporation, but what I don't get is why Cap wouldn't earn something from all the merchandise related to the heroes that is being sold in the MCU. I mean, Agents of Shield shows a child play with a Hulk toy and Spider Man Homecoming shows that masks with the Avengers' faces can be purchased. So how come no one is paying Steve Rogers for his likeness? - the dude even has an entire section of a museum dedicated to him. I know Cap is a humble guy but one would assume he would get a piece of the sales.
@karltoontv6 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I never really understood all of that.
@Jinglewooble6 жыл бұрын
What you seem to forget is that since the first cap movie he has always been a merchandise/a war propaganda. So in a sense he more like a working staff in a mascot suit and did not own the right to the name Captain America. Also even if he did in some retrospectively own the name during his "death" when the plane crashed into the arctic without leaving his will, consent and/or kin to claim his heroism his name is probably forgotten and was no longer relevant, so when he return the US military still own his Captain name and he just kind of stuck to it. Beside i don't think anyone have ever mention his name directly as Captain America, they just called his Cap' or Steve most of the time. And he probably just a humble person like that and probably didn't care the money as he never really stay in Brooklyn more than 1/3 of any movie anyway.
@DDarkNut6 жыл бұрын
Because tv side is not connected to the big screen even if they spout nonsense crap like "its all connected".
@puertoricangio16 жыл бұрын
it was a quick simple joke about the gentrification of Brooklyn, where Captain's from.. in recent years, certain parts of Brooklyn are now as or more expensive than Manhattan.. Native New Yorkers would understand that joke more.. ~Gio~~
@Khaim.m6 жыл бұрын
Simple: Steve Rogers doesn't own the rights for "Captain America", for the same reason that Chris Evans doesn't. In-universe, "Captain America" was a character created by the US Government in the 40s for propaganda, which actually means that _no one_ owns the copyrights for that character - works created by the government are not subject to copyright! (17 U.S. Code § 105 law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/17/105) Honestly, the in-universe copyright situation is a bit weird for the other superheroes too. They're just public figures, which means copyright doesn't apply; the only thing which might be relevant is publicity rights, which I know less about but are generally weaker. So there's no much to prevent everyone from creating and selling superhero merchandise (in-universe).

It's absolutely incredible how the movie addressed every single one of those story threads that you list from 15:45 to 16:36, whilst still weaving together a cohesive and interesting story intertwined with heart-wrenching emotion that also manages to take many an unexpected turn. I'm not sure which is more impressive - that they had the foresight to ensure that they so thoroughly satisfied every possible thread, or that you had the foresight to know exactly what it was that they would address.

Been doing my rewatch since Thursday night, just finished my fave MCU flick, Cap 2 The Winter Soldier and on to Guardians, it's funny how similar the tropes of most the MCU flicks are. Like Spencer says, the MCU has a homogenized sameness that is very TV like (save for a few that stand out like TWSoldier, Guardians, IM:3) which is probably the main weakness of this film series for me...also noticed how Thor 2 "the only reason it existed was to introduce an Infinity gem" is still the weakest (pretty much napped through it) even over IM:2 & The Incredible Hulk for me... But the Cap & Iron Man series' are still my faves, especially Iron Man 3 which I love the more I rewatch it, comic nerds hated IM3 due to the Mandarin reveal (which I thought was hilarious), but it's a blast of a pure Shane Black genre film through the lens of Tony Stark & Friends.

This is why Screen Junkies is the best channel on KZbin. I've been looking for a video that recaps the MCU for like a month now. All the videosI watched go in timeline order and not movie order, which is what I wanted. Of course it is this channel that delivers what is needed. One thing I will say is that I wish it went a little more in depth with the later movies. Some things I feel should have been added are the fact that Mantis was added to the Guardians, Spider-Man was offered a job with the Avengers but turned it down, and how Janet Van Dyne is lost in the quantum realm. I get how you wanted to focus on the infinity stones and how each movie will deal with infinity war, but who knows what's going to happen so it's a nice recap for the time to come.

Jerome Alday You've said 3 villains, one who was watered down massively for Ragnarok. There is an undeniable villain Problem and it didn't start with IM3

I try not to remember Iron Man 3, all of the time. But, "It tasks me. It tasks me, and I... "

Pretty darn good recap. My only complaint would be that you may have skimmed past Guardians of the Galaxy a bit too quickly. Sure, there aren't any Infinity Stones in there, but there is a chunk of backstory on Thanos, and it sets up Nebula & Gamora to be significant players in the upcoming conflict.

Should’ve done it in chronological order- not release order.

revisiting the first 5 mcu movies makes me realize that most of them were not the greatest but eventually it all got better. we really gotta give the DCEU a break.

Iron Man 1 and Avengers 1 are still two of the best MCU movies though

Bay McCulloch Yeah phase 1 of the MCU wasn’t very good. The only ones from that phase I really like are Iron Man and The Avengers. And I don’t think the DCEU movies are all that bad tbh. The only one that’s downright terrible is Suicide Squad. That “film” is an abomination.

yep, i agree with all that for sure!

Broncos4life DCEU tried to do everything too fast. In BvS they introduced way too many storylines, and the result was that the movie was boring. In justice league they copied the plot of the avengers, and half of the team hadn’t had a solo movie yet, so we had no feelings for the characters. On the other hand, when they did things slow, we got wonder woman, which was a good movie. They simply need to do things at their own pace and not try to catch up to marvel as fast as possible
