While I agree with quite a few of the issues....Venom did make me realize how much I missed just a single movie where I didn't have to know 20 movies worth of continuity. Venom just feels like a genuinely good time. Also thank you for pointing out the theater. Not because of the ridiculousness about the shot, but because I forgot that this movie was shot right next to where I now go to school and live. Sweet!

T2S Rebranding to Flare Branch You don't have to watch all 20 movies to get any Marvel movie, it just adds an extra dimension if you do. Seriously, they're good films but 'impenetrable if you haven't seen all the others'? Hardly. Speaking for myself, I watched the other films after watching one because I liked the characters and I was surprised that the writing was as good as it was.

I'm simply acknowledging Screen Junkies point on simply watching something related to superheroes/comic books as one and done (though this is far from "done") without having to think about how it affects the overall universe. I love MCU and I'm still amazed by the timeline it's built, I just also miss the days of Sami Remy's Spiderman and Nolan's Batman Trilogy. I respect your opinion and agree with it, I hope you at least understand mine

The difference in the critics and audience score is drastically different. Many people thought this movie was hilarious and actually fun. Our whole theater was laughing at the banter between Tom and venom. It was different and thankfully not a depressing bore like the DC darkness is. Think that’s why it did so well with audiences still despite the critics shitting on it.
