What bothers me here is that Rogue with that power who can fly is challenging with a throat grab in the air. She could keep flying levitate him with her power, backflip and crush him on the ground back and keep fighting for her life and Gambit. I mean, after that beating, hitting his arm like a sissy girl looks a little contrast. I don't think her throat can be squeezed anyway. Still, this was my favourite scene from this episode.

Bastion isn't a mutant, he's a sentinel human hybrid, a blend of Master mold and Nimrod. Rogue's absorbing power likely wouldn't have any effect, plus he's strong enough to just toss her off if she tries, it's more effective for her in this case to just hit him as hard as possible until he stops moving.

I understand why some people are mad at rogue and say gambit deaerves better, but they're overlooking a lot about rogue. She's broken and flawed like all of us. She has so much fear, insecurities, and trauma from her past that plays a huge part in why she did what she did. She doesn't want to be hurt, nor hurt the ones she loves the most. That's why she never made it official with gambit. The last time they kissed it nearly killed him. Yes, she does break his heart, but not out of callus or spite she just doesn't want him to waste his time on someone he can't touch. At least, that's what she thinks is why it won't work. She realizes that she does love gambit and wants to be with him, but unfortunately, it's too late. She now lives with regret and even more trauma. And when she comes face to face with death gambit, its gonna be extremely heartbreaking.
