I have a theory on why Snape bullied Neville the most, even more than Harry The prophecy could have been about Neville instead of Harry which means Voldemort could have killed Neville's parents instead, meaning Lily would have still been alive. I’m gonna have to disagree on Snape appearing when Harry used the resurrection stone. The people who appeared were people who were important TO HARRY not to just the plot. His parents he missed and always longed for, Sirius who was the closet thing he had to a parental figure who also had a connection to his dad, and Remus who was also a strong connection to his parents. While Snape was very much involved at one point with his parents and was actually on his side, he was still a pretty rotten person/professor to him.

I find personal solace in this particular theory; Snape's story has always been so tragic to me and I think he's extremely underrated. It could be true because a narcissistic parent (or parents in the case of the Dursleys) quite often have a golden child and a scapegoat. Yeah there’s this one also if Hogwarts isn’t real and it is just a mental hospital so does that mean Harry’s parents are alive and the whole story would be different. You see the reason why I thought that is because one Voldemort happen to have studied in Hogwarts which made him have more knowledge of magic. Snape never would have shown up when Harry used the Resurrection Stone because he was nothing to Harry, regardless of his actions to keep Harry safe. Lupin was a father figure to Harry. He was his friend, and Harry was the godfather to Teddy, Lupin's son. There is absolutely no reason that Lupin wouldn't have shown up. Just because the movie doesn't elaborate on Harry and Lupin's relationship doesn't mean it wasn't deeper in the books. Also, the theory about George Weasley really hurts my heart.

Here's something to think about: We all know that the reason Dumbledore didn't want to give Snape the DADA post in Hogwarts was because he didn't want him to get too attached with the dark arts so he'd return to Voldemort's side. But there could be another reason... We know that Snape wanted the defence against the dark arts job from the start all along, but Dumbledore never gave him the job until book 6. People good at spotting patterns will also realise that the post is jinxed; no one can keep the post for more than a year. Snape was a crucial part of Dumbledore's plan to kill Voldemort, so he didn't want him to be faced with something bad as a result of having the DADA post, until the sixth book when Snape had done the unbreakable vow to kill Dumbledore, so he knew this was the time to let him have the post. Think about that, huh

I read a theory kind of similar to the last one where Harry had actually just dreamt all of it and at the end of the story he just wakes up right back at the cupboard under the stairs. His parents had in fact died in a car accident, he had no magical abilities at all, Ron and Hermione were just kids who lived in the neighbourhood and everyone else were just random people he had met but pretty much everything was just his imagination. He had created all of this in his head just as an escape from how his home life was.

Well, we have heard the rule, never let anybody else see you when you go back in time. He couldn't have saved his brother without driving the whole battle into even further insanity. And even if none of them would be freaked out by George, there would still be a chance for him too to die in the battle if he went back to save his brother, and he might cause even more people to die. It's why in Cursed Child, Draco never went back in time after his wife died. He loved her and wanted to honour her memory more then to cause chaos and disrupt the future. I think George would have come to the same conclusion if he had a time turner. He loved Fred too much, but the people around him too, so he couldn't. If we were to speak that this theory is canon, which obviously is not.

Well, I think performing a spell to bring back the dead vs. going back in time to change an event from occurring, are two different things. As for Hermonine being able to use the time turner to be in class, she says herself that McGonagall gives it to her so she can take double the work load that year. So she would see two differ groups of students during a class hour not the same one (if that makes sense). For example, if she had potions and charms at the same time, she would sit thru potions then use the time turner after to go back and do charms which would be a differ set of students. It's hard to explain but makes sense in my head lol.

According to Pottermore, if Nevilles first wand was made of ash wood and had a core of unicorn hair it is very likely that was just to much attached to its first owner to be of any great use for him. The same is true about Rons first wand, which he got from his older brother. Notice also that in OotP, when Neville gets serious about the DA, that's when he starts to improve drastically. It's also the book where we really see the Longbottoms. Perhaps his father's wand would have worked well for him from then on, but when he started taking his education of DADA seriously, he was following in his father's footsteps. Taking a stand against the dark arts and actively learning spells and tactics to that end could have proven to his father's wand he was worthy of its loyalty. As wands in this universe are seemingly sentient to some degree, him showing the wand he's serious about its original owner's path and goals could have been the spark for wand and wizard to finally click. Perhaps even a way to.win its allegiance, as it's shown killing the previous owner isn't the only way to do so. Even before getting a wand truly suited to him, still using his father's, he was part of a small group that went toe to toe with death eaters and the entire group hs went to the Ministry with survived. His progression through the book shows that the wand and he had bonded over the course of DA training. And then, in DH, he essentially led most of Hogwarts's students against the Dark Lord himself and proved his true spirit of bravery, after enduring torture for the better part of the year. It becomes increasingly clear he is a powerful wizard, but justa took awhile to bloom, and the uncooperative wand didn't help

The first theory has massive holes. For starters, Snape never cared for Harry, nor did he die for Harry. Everything he did was for Lily. There would be no reason for Snape to show up in the resurrection stone since all of those who did show up had an intimate connection with Harry that was predicated on love. Snape didn't love Harry or even like Harry. Snape was my favorite character and so I would love for him to still be alive, but that theory is just not practical.

Divine Campe he gave a level of care, yes, in the concrete sense. He did not care for him in the emotional sense. Harry was too much a symbol of Snape's own errors, what could have been for him, and an endless reminder of the brutal bully who made most of his school experience a living nightmare. And had Harry not been born, Voldemort would not have gone out of his way to go after the Potters, Lily coould have still been alive, and even not with Snape, hope springs eternal. Harry represents the mistakes Snape made, from driving his best friend and unrrequited love of his life away, spying for Voldemort, and all his prideful failing between. In the end, Snape was a good man and brave as hell, even though he went through a time of being dark that few could ever redeem themselves from. He's a complex character and that's part of why the fanbase loves him. From a human standpoint he's a massive prick at best, and that never remedies, but he also fought the good fight and was a key.part of its success. It's not even jerk with a heart of gold status, he's a jerk to the core, but he had moral standards he developed from having been on both sides, and ended up drawing the line at true evil.

He admitted to Dumbeldore in book 7 that he didn't care for Harry even after all the years he spent protecting him. Everything Snape did was for Lily. I was upset that Snape died but JK did it right. She didn't have him sacrifice himself for Harry; she didn't have him jump in front of a spell for Harry, etc. His death was accurate in terms of his feelings for Harry. It would have been out of his character for him to die by sacrificing himself for someone he never cared for.

There's a lot wrong with what you're saying: 1. Who says they searched for bodies in the Shrieking Shack? There's absolutely no reason for anyone to go look there, it's far from the Hogwarts grounds, so no wonder they didn't find Snape (and even if they did, Harry didn't look at all the bodies). And Nagini's venom is pretty incurable, look at how much trouble the Healers had at healing Arthur in St. Mungo's!! 3. Dumbledore didn't posess the three Hallows at the same time, he found the Stone years after he'd given away the Cloak, and he never truthfully owned the Cloak, only Harry posessed the three of them at the same time. Just ask Dumbledore, in "King's Cross" he says that Harry is the true Master of Death!! 6. Who was the other Gryffindor girl besides Lavender and Parvati? Her name is definitely NEVER mentioned in the books, I'm 100% sure she doesn't exist!!! And we don't see the whole Sorting Ceremony in the books, we don't see Dean getting sorted (I've checked all the Gryffindors). 7. Ron's first wand was second hand too, and he too wasnt very good at the beginning. 8. Did Voldemort eat himself in order to make Harry a Horcrux? I believe his body was never found... (But then he would've known that Harry was a Horcrux). 9. Hagrid said Lockhart was the only candidate that year, mostly because Quirrell's death scared people off, and of course Dumbledore knew Lockhart was a fraud, Dumbledore is the smartest character of the whole series.

Harry became a horcrux because when Voldemort's spell backfired and hit Voldemort, his soul was already very very fragile, because thats what five horcruxes do to a soul. According to Voldemort, both Harry's parents and Neville's were against him, but if Voldemort had gone to the Longbottoms instead of the Potters that fateful night, Neville would have been the chosen one. we know that killing rips the soul (its even stated by snape in the halfblood prince) but i think in order to get that piece of soul that got ripped and conceal it in an object to make a horcrux you need to do some act of evil before preforming the charm to make the actual horcrux. So i think on the night that voldemort killed James and lily his soul actually split into 3 (bcz he murdered james and lily and then there is his own soul) and when he tried to kill harry the spell backfired killing one part of his soul, and one part attached itself to the only living thing it found which was harry, and the last part of his soul fled as we know it said in the books he was ripped off his body less than a spirit less than a meanest ghost yet he was still alive
