Nah, he believes that’s part of the local culture of the other toys so he’s trying to assimilate which is part of his ranger training. It’s not made explicit in the movie but it’s clear because he doesn’t do it when they are outside the room until he finds out he’s a toy. He climbs into the delivery truck and just acts normal and never freezes at pizza planet. Before that he’s in hyper sleep on the box.

10:37 The toys will freeze when they know someone's watching them, and will move if they think nobody is. They likely wake up hours after the creator stops working on them. They might die when they reach the creator's standard of "broken." They likely become a new entity when a new creator modifies them enough. If the creator is a machine, then the toy's spirit probably goes up the chain of machines until it reaches a human, or whatever monkey you taught to build toys.

Jasmine is actually not 15. That was her age in the original draft, but they scrapped that specifically because they didn't want to appear like they endorse teenage marriage. Hence they made Jasmine appear older and never mention her exact age in the movie.

The biggest flaw in that movie is aliens that burn from water trying to conquer a world that 3/4 of the surface is water. They definitely would have left after the first rainfall.
