Drawing arrows etc isn't enough annotation in my view - can you recommend how to add a text box or free text and arrows to improve annotations? thanks

Did you find a way to do this, @martynstar?, I now have Win 11, and used Prt Sc to do this (not Snip), where the box would allow for adding of a text box. (I used Snip only to highlight with a ruler in a straight line). I use print screen to take notes during presentations, and need to add text in say under 5 seconds. Using multiple apps like paint cannot be done that quickly. Very frustrating Microsoft seemed to do away with the ability to annotate by text 'on the fly', and looking for any alternative.

It's crazy that you can't add text, I do lots of annotations for my job. It's freaking simple in mac

They added a ruler and a protractor before adding a way for quickly drawing a perfect rectangle with click and drag...
