This is definitely the hardest kind of cinematography to make, slow-motion in this level is fucking huge, i enjoyed the movie a lot.

Kaufman's work is so imaginative. He loves to mess with scale, on so many levels.

For obvious reasons the cinematography tends to be static in stop-motion movies but how do they animate the characters when the camera is moving? On a dolly for example, the camera movement is fluid...
@PrRatman6 жыл бұрын
They have motion-control gears. They pre-record a movement done by a technician, this pre-recording goes into the animation software. Then, when the animators do their thing, they press a button between each position of the puppets to take a photograph. The software moves the camera a tiny little bit after every shot taken. At the final photograph, the camera has reached its final position

Ah, okay. This is from Wikipedia: "The Fregoli delusion, or the delusion of doubles, is a rare disorder in which a person holds a delusional belief that different people are in fact a single person who changes appearance or is in disguise."

Kind of odd that they're "directing" the b-roll "making-of" footage. Makes it feel less organic and more business side.

It kinda fits with the movie though. Almost think they did it on purpose. They could have just edited it out but they left it in.
